Goin in for 7500 mi service - Problems - UPDATE!!

Im gonna be taking my car in for the 7500 mi oil change service. My car came with the first 3 oil changes for free. I'll be taking it to Riverside Infiniti in SoCal.
My gripe is that I am also going with a long list of things to get fixed:
1. Squeak/rattle from the sunroof
2. Clicking noise from front drivers seat
3. Severe vibration sound on cold engine start up - sounds like its coming from exhaust system
4. Front brake squeak from Brembos on slow speed stops

There are a couple of other rattles in the car but I can't always hear them. I am concerned that the dealer will just come back with "We can't seem to duplicate the problem" and basically say its ok. Well I drive it everyday and I hear these things everyday.

Another thing. Does anyone have experience with TSB problems and bringing them up to the dealer and having the items fixed?

Anyways, just had to vent. Thanks everyone.

The brembos are known to squeak... that's just what they do, I doubt they will do anything about that.

They will tell you that it is normal. I have the same issue on my '05. When I start up sometimes it sounds like something is rattling.

They better not try to tell me its normal. Its very noticable and embarrassing when I start it up. A $38k car should not do this. Not all G35's do this, so I don't think this is normal. Something is resonating within the exhaust system and they better fix it. I Hope.............

The rattle from the sunroof is an easy fix. They just lube that area up and it'll be gone. The clicking sound might be from your seatbelt. I know mine used to make that noise but it went away. The vibration sound when you first start the car is normal...it may just be a little more apparent with your car. You can try telling them, but i doubt there will be a fix for it. As for the brembos, they squeak naturally. All performance brakes squeak a little.

Oil change

I dropped mine off last week for an oil change, and told them to adjust the clutch pedal, and that I have hard time shifting to 2nd and 3rd sometimes. They changed the oil and said clutch and shifting is normal. Oh well, didn't even mention the squeeks. I love the car otherwise, drive with the radio on almost all the time so squeeks and rattles are a minor issue. Although I heard a sunroof a few times. So what exactly do they lube, maybe i'll lube it myself?

Uhhh... is it me... or ... 4 items makes a "long list of problems"? Get a grip... sounds like a short list of annoyances - and none of them major.

Maybe I'm going deaf, but my '04 is at the 7500 mile mark, and I haven't heard a squeak from the Brembos, or interior rattle yet (knock on wood), even after tearing apart the dash to install the DVD to Nav setup (AVElectronic unit).

although i love the car, ive had several problems with the 04 G35 coupe 5AT. problems such as clicking noises from the rear when accelerating, my chrome rims peeling off, idle rocking at unstable levels, brake noises, the dealer cracking my odometer protective plastic screen --;;, side rubber markers peeling off, and numerous other problems.

i know what you mean about the sunroof. mine made this crazy sound and i thought i broke it. but it was actually just the rubber squeaking. it comes back every time it rains. at least i know it seals tight. lol

as for rattles... most of mine have gone away now that it's hot. but during those COLD canadian winters... it seems like every piece of plastic squeaks or creaks.

my brembos also make a little noise when i'm rolling really slow. but all high performance brakes do that.

Don't get me wrong. I love my car. The brake squeak is minor and I can accept that due to the performance I get from them. The vibration/resonating and the sunroof noise is the more prominent annoyances. If they can fix the vibration/annoyances, I will be more than satisfied. Its not that 4 items is a long list of problems, I guess I hust want a perfect car since its my dream car that I finally was able to get. Anyways, thanks for the replies everyone and drive on.

I had a few problems with my car as well but all was fix under warranty. Here is a short list of problems I had with my car. Riverside Infiniti fix everything no questions asked.

1. CD failed
2. Power window failed
3. Brake squeaking
4. Front seat was rocking back and fort
5. Rattles everywhere right side of dash and driver side seat belt was most annoying
6. Dealer scraped the front bumper was fix at thier expense

I could bring the car in for more minor problems but it's just a waste of time for me. I can live with minor stuff it's the big ones that I can't stand. Brake squeaking again and of course rattles will never go away. My car just hit 19K over the weekend it's going to be 2 yrs old in August. So far I'm happy with it so I'll just wait til something major comes up again before I bring it back for repairs.

Thumbs up

GlennP
mine is 8 months old and I am closing in on 15,000 miles, I too had a small list of stuff to do .. the dealer fixed everything , mostly the noisy sunroof, checked the brakes. no problems and when I got the car back it looked as good as the day I bought it. wash&wax along with the wheels and tires prepped. going into the dealer with a "pissy" attitude gets you knowhere.
good luck

I also get my car serviced at Riverside Infiniti (great service, IMO!) I took my coupe in a while back for brake noise... they said all was well. I just learned to deal with the noise as it doesn't occur that often.
