Knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently?

Hello G35 Drivers,

I am in the market for a new G35 Coupe. I have decided that I want the 6MT model, and in Ivory Pearl with Wheat leather. The car is truly gorgeous!

My local dealer has about 30 G35 Coupes in stock, and 28 of them are automatics! This surprises me, since I would think that most people on the market for a sports coupe would want every sporty angle. Is there something about the automatic that I don't know that everyone else does, or is this just dealer demographics doing their job?

Also, every G35c they had in stock had the premium package... and most people on here (doing a search) say they could have done without. Would it be a waste of my money to get the premium package? I wanted to try out the non-Bose stereo, but it looks like I won't be able to do that! The idea that my date could have her not-so-cold air blowing on her while I'm icing out, however, sounds nice to me.

So wise G35 drivers, knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently when you bought your G35c?

As for the Premium Package some say they could have done without it as far as the Bose sound system goes and I agree, the sound system isn't the greatest. There's a reason most call it 'Blose'

Either way for me, I personally could not have done without the Premium package. I really use the Homelink rear view mirror as well as I personally love the sunroof and always need that in my cars so it was worth the package for me just for those 2 things.

Walk right out of the dealership, drive my beater for another year, and buy an Elise. Would have been cheaper and more fun in the long run.

only thing i would have done differently is have gotten the Navi...so pissed i didnt splurge for it.
The premium package to me is essential, the Bose isnt THAT bad like everyone says (to me atleast, ok its not GREAT but i mean whatever its cool), plus with the so-so Bose you get the auto-dimming mirror, homelink, sunroof, auto on/off headlights...its just a nice upgrade to keep the car more luxurious!

everything else i am perfectly pleased with. i didnt get hte 18" tire package (no 19's offered in 04) - im a little pissed that the interior "titanium" trim only comes with the 18" tire package, BUT i can take that loss because i have snow tires on my 17" wheels and i bought aftermarket 19's so it all worked out fine.

let us know how u make out - and good choice going with a GCoupe!!

Different things for different people. First: Bose sound system is amazing, everyone I know, compliments how my stock bose system is better than any stock system in any other car. I had an amp and a box with 2 12 inch woofers and my previous car, and I seriously sold it, since the bose in my '04 coupe has enough kick, not as much but enough.
As for premium package: it all depends on your previous experience, if you never needed premium, you probably not gonna cry you didn't get it this time. Me... I always wanna move up, so I always had premium, so this time no different, plus I got Navi and it happened that the car had Satelite radio also. I am happy I have everything.
I don't like wood, so I'm very happy with titanium interior even on the 04s, and I had frost grey leather in my maxima and I got sick of it, so had to get black now, and since pearl didn't come with it anymore, that's why I got an '04.
Good luck in whatever you get.

As you can see in my sig, I have an 04 6MT Premium with Willow Int. I live in South Texas, So the light color paint helps keep me cool. However, that is not the driving reason I chose Ivory Pearl. Next to all the other available colors, In my oppinion, Ivory Pearl is hands down, the most elegant color for this car. When polished up right, this car GLOWS in the sunlight. I can't go anywhere without compliments from both young and old on my G! As for the Premium, no regrets. Again, in my opinion, it's not the same car without it. Yes... There are better than BOSE, but they do have a pretty good tone to them. Enought to keep the average listener satisfied! I have no regrets... I still don't see the need for Navigation! Far too much dough for digital map assitance. Take the money and drop it into a tight set of wheels!

Hope my opinion helps... Everyone has different styles and demands, so... Whatever options you do choose, just remember, Your biggest regret would be to not buy the G!

Loved my D/G Automatic Coupe and no regrets whatsoever. Fully loaded, lots of toys and the auto was sporty enough for me.

I got mine fully loaded, and no regrets. I usually buy my cars fully loaded. Everytime I buy a car that is not fully loaded I end up regreting that I didn't get the options. Unless I truly know I will never use a certain option.

For me, I guess I would have bought one with NAV....only thing I left out, but I kinda wish I had it.

Oh, and about the auto's, don't forget Infiniti is still first and foremost a luxury car maker, and according to some of the salesmen I've talked to, aroudn 80% of their sales are automatics.

Why? Some of the best G35c's I've seen are white. I've always been partial to the color, even on other cars as well.

The other color I would consider is graphite, but after seening the ivory in person, I like the ivory better.

my girl's the same as yours, almost always she has to have a different temp setting to her side so i guess you need it. and it also comes down if your the kind who wants to tear your interior apart to do upgrades, but if not, then just get it all. you won't regret it.

I wish I had tried to find the car I wanted with the aero package factory installed instead of having it added by the dealer. Some days I think I should have gotten Nav but I'm still not sure it's worth it.
