Thumbs down VDC, ABS, Slip Problems....

So last night I was driving around looking for a house to buy when all of a sudden my nav screen shows an ABS and VDC problem and the lights on my cluster are on. It says my ABS might not be functioning, visit your local dealer... blah blah blah. So I turn the car off and back on and it goes away. That is, until I push the break pedal moderately hard (when driving). Any ideas guys? I'd rather not take the time to drag it to the dealer.... but if I must, I will.

Danny

Sounds like it's time for new brake pads. Happened to me too, they replaced the pads and everything was fine.

but why would the VDC kick on and the ABS not work but the regular brakes work?

Happened to me many times. Causes...brake fluid slightly low, brake pads worn... and ABS controller replaced twice. I'm trying to lemon law mine. If you are running near a dealer when it happens they can check the codes (don't turn it off) if they are nice.

if its just a brake pad wear, how are you trying to lemon law it?

It's not. I had it in 5 times just for the freaking ABS cntroller that thay eventually had to replace twice just to get the lights off the last time. It was in once for pads, once cause they didn't top the fluid (they said). Freaking insane. Wanna buy a coupe?

well I checked the brake fluid level and it is perfectly fine. So maybe it is the brake pads.... or maybe the ABS controller. Either way, I guess I'm droppin by the dealer sometime soon....
