Best way to learn is driving it! Get out there and find a low traffic area with lots of stop signs so if you chug it you're not in danger of getting hit! Before long it'll be like you've been doing it forever.

Every car / clutch is different. When I first got into the G, coming from my Honda S2000 I killed it the first 3 times I put it in reverse and I've been driving stick for over 20 years. Once you get used to it though you'll be tearassing all over the place!

Vip,

is this your first car with manual? How long have you driven stick before this car? Clutch engagement for the G is actually pretty high compared to most cars.

edit:
Anyway congrats and welcome to the family

Get in a parking lot, & ease the clutch out til it starts to catch, then push in to disengage. Keep doing this until you know where the clutch is going to engage. This should get you started.

Congrats on the new ride bro. Practice your shifting and starting from a standstill, it'll come eventually. Maybe practice on a beater until you get better at it.

Congratulations! Nice car! Regarding the first gear thing, just keep practicing. Pretty soon, you won't even think about it!
