K&N Air Filter
I installed a Z Tube on my G some 2 weeks, ago. I am thinking about installing a K&N drop in filter, this weekend. However, I do have a few questions for you more experienced owners.
Aside from having a filter, which I can clean and re-use . . .
1. What other qualities/benefits (performance, probably none . . . sound?) will I notice, if any?
2. I understand that the K&N filter has a higher flow filter element. As such, does it perform as well as the stock paper filter with regard to filtration?
3. Do I need to pre-oil the new K&N filter prior to the installation?
As usual, thanks in advance for your comments and thoughts.

To answer your questions:
1) You can add Plenum spacer 3/8" or 1/2"
2) Paper does better in filteration than K&N Air Filter
3) No. you don't need to pre-oil. It's ready to put to replace the old filter and no need to pre-oil... it's already pre-oil.

Little deeper sound as you go toward WOT. Negligable performance gain.

I read a thread, this morning, which stated that if the K&N filter is over oiled after the cleaning process, it may damage the Air Flow Sensor. Have any of you experience this?
Hmmm . . . after I get my clear bra installed, today, I'll run over to the local Kragen store and pick-up a K&N filter. With regard to filtration, I'll clean the K&N more often. Heck, I'll get two, so I will always have one ready, while the other is drying.
Do not, under any circumstances, over oil the K & N. If you do, it can mess up your Mass Air Flow sensor. There are a number of posts on this site in which that has occured. It is a $300+- repair.
If you are going to get two, I would just plan on throwing one away when it gets dirty and replacing it with another. That way, you don't have the mess of re-oiling and potentially over oiling. It is more expensive but, you also don't have to buy the K & N re-oil and cleaning kit.
The K&N oil is 14.00+-. They say you should use the K&N cleaner for an added expense. A new filer is 45.00. To save the $20+-, potentially damage the MAF and the basic hassle of it is not worth it for me.

Good point . . . This is a essential concern of mine. I'll simply install a new K&N filter for now and decide whether to stick with K&N or go back to a paper Fram type element when the time dictates a change/cleaning.
I would rather not deal with potential MASF issues down the road.
Thank you for your comments/suggestions, FLFIRE. They are very much appreciated. Hehehe . . . No one said this ride was going to be inexspensive . . . LOL
