Stock Exhaust

Sup fellas,
I was just wondering how the stock exhaust is compared to an aftermarket one? After, we are driving sport coupes and I would imagine that Nissan's stock exhaust would be pretty good as compared to others. Am I just dead wrong?

the stock exhaust is good, but its the y pipe that is restrictive.

as imalaz said. the Y-pipe is restricted. So people get a more better flowing Y-pipe.

Stock is pretty good as is, but aftermarket will pick up the noise level a tad, (or more) and give a few ponies and looks in the deal.

stock exhausts are never as free flowing as aftermarket...that is why there is an aftermarket. it will make the car louder and pick up a few horses but nothing significant. there have been debates on whether less restrictive flow causes loss of torque at low end and more power up top. back pressure and stuff like that.

I think it's like approx 70lbs. I know the Stillen weighs more than the stock exhaust.

How much change in the sound of the stock exhaust will you notice if you just get an aftermarket Y pipe?

you won't notice the power increase and there is just a tiny bit sound difference.
Yes the stock exhaust will fit any aftermarket Y-pipes.
