Second of all.. face it guys, the G isnt that "fast" and it doesnt handle great. I'm not saying its a bad car, minus the cheap interior..

Stay away from the 350z at all costs, the feathering is not worth your time and suffering. Nissan still does not have a legitimate fix regardless of what they claim. As someone who has lived through the feathering take my advice and get a car that does not have this issue.

The G35.. a 38,000$ interior is very cheap... plastics front dash and all kinds of rattle noises... And I own both cars so I do know what a G35 is capable of being that I've autoX several times with the car. The G35 is my DD and its one of the worst cars i've ever owned.. Should have opted for an M3.. dont give me flack about my opinion.. to each there own

While I agree that the G35 does not come anywhere near the sports car feel the S2k has, the S2k's dated plain interior just doesn't cut it for a $33k+ car, even though it wasn't meant to be "luxurious". You could buy a Civic for half the price and it will look just as good (or bad).
As far as which one is faster, you can check the last posts of this thread and you'll see (if you haven't already) that the average for a stock S2k is low to mid 14s. While I admit I haven't seen a G35 run 13.7 stock, the s2k and most G35 6MT's average the same 1/4 mile times. No one is arguing with you about the G35 being a superior, faster or better handling car, but if you're making a statement please be kind enough to back it up.
So in one thread you call the G "awesome", in another "one of the worst"?

I know its comparing apples to oranges.. I was just giving my 02 cents on how the G35 does not have superior handling... Also, I've tracked both of my cars and I ran quicker times with the S, everytime... I dont know about any s2ks running mid 14's unless its a lemon... On a hot, humid day I ran 14.01 consecutively..
Awesome as a DD
Worse as a performance car
hope that clarifies for you..

Thank you very much.. I'm just saying the handling isnt as good as the S... I'm pretty sure the G can outhandle certain cars, but def not the S...

although the topic has kinda "drifted" a little off the original subject, i'd like to add to the "performance issue"..... seeing as i won't be tracking the car, and prefer a torque-y engine, i know that the G35c will actually feel faster in every day driving (than the S2000). THAT, i believe, is what most people should focus on, unless of course you track your car a few times a week, or have more than one car ! Heck, if i could afford 2 cars in the G35c's price range, i'd buy the STi as my second car. Then do some minor mods and go hunting for some S2000's !!
UNfortunately i have no such luxury.

yess defenitly the s2000 is faster but less torque and handles a lot better but u dont get the same luxury in a s2000 as u do in a g35 i think the g35 is a muchhhh bettter daily driver since its a 4 seater and smooother ride..there pretty much in different classes u cant really compare the 2 cars..if u wanted to compare the g35 to something compare it to a 330ci or somehting not a sport car

To the OP, you can always add aftermarket sway bars and upgrade the suspension to achieve zero body roll. There's nothing you can do about the length, height and weight of the G.. if it's not sporty enough for you then it's not.
...I swore this thread about 350z vs g35.. lolz. You guys take things too seriously sometimes.
Anyways, I believe, like some of the other guys that the g has recorded better skidpad #'s but as for the actual "feel", though completely subjective... I think the Z feels alot tighter and I think its lower to the ground as well, may be wrong. My younger sister has a base model and even that feels tighter around corners than my g with stock springs... I have the 04 mt...
So yes I think you would have to go aftermarket with the suspen. to get more of a "hug the road" feeling with the g...
....still would get a G anyways tho

I test drove both before I picked the G. The 350Z having a shorter wheelsbase and stiffer setup produced a forward-back rocking motion on some broken pavement. Felt almost like a rocking horse, over and over. That again depends on road conditions where you are. Beside from that and the 350Z interior was a little sparse, you could tell they were "sister cars". I also didn't notice the subtle, if any, engine/tranny performance differences during the test drive comparos.
