G vs Z handling, let's see - Drive through a twisty road in a G35. Then drive the same road again with a 200lb passenger in the car. The Z will handle better. Longer wheelbase on the G makes it more stable on the highway and mid-high speed corners. It does not help producing better skidpad and slalom numbers, that's the merit of Pilot Sport tires.

The G is a very nice car, because it's a excellent combination of performance, luxury and value. It's not the fastest, not the best handling, not the best luxurious but where can you find a better combination?

Hyun, you speak the truth when you said the S2K is a faster/better handling car than the G. However the comparison is borderline rediculous since they are in two completely different class. (minus the BS that up till 2004 both are placed in B Stock by Solo) Saying that you should have gotten a M3 over a G is also rediculous due to the obvious price difference.

I don't want to get more offtopic here, but compared to a Lotus Elise, the S2k is nothing~ The S2K is a great sport car but its time has came and passed.

Why is it ridiculous that I wanted the M3 over the G? The only reason why I didnt opt for the M3 was because I rather use my money for investments that actually will help me bank instead of buying a car which is a depreciating asset as soon as you drive it off the lot. I know they are two different cars, but If I knew the difference was going to be so immensely different[speed/quailty wise], I would have taken a small hit financially and got the M.

And you are correct, the Lotus Elise is a lot faster than the S.. so is a,sti, evo mr,f430,cayman,and C6 but you are again correct.. it is off topic.. the reason why I brought up the S was bc, he mentioned a car w/good handling and didnt care about back seats and so i suggested the s2k.. since they are in the same price range..

The S2000 vs G is a no brainer. It's 600 lbs lighter than a G! It handles much better than a G and 90% of the cars on the road. However, in a straight line situation, my experiences dictate that the S2000 wasn't faster...at least not that day. The M3 vs G is also a no brainer. There's a $20k difference between the two. Whether of not the $20k is justifible, the M3 does out-accelerate the G from any situation. Suprisingly, the difference between the G and M handling is not as drastic as the G and S2000. They weigh almost the same. The G can hold its own against a M on the track, but the M will pull away in the straight-away. So what if the G can't handle like a S2000, most cars can't. Saying the G can't handle well really discounts your credibility IMO...handling is one of the car's forte. This is coming from a previous BMW owner. The S2000 can't touch the G in the luxury department, which is important to those who like those little things when they're not canyon carving. The fact remains the same that nothing can come close to the G when luxury, price, and performance is seriously considered. My recommendation to the original poster is the C6, 350Z, and the S2000 in that order.

What ever dude. Out of your 11 posts 90% of them say something about the S2K. Do you even own a G? Why don't you go post on an S2K forum?

OMG what is wrong with some people, I post on this forum because I just bought a G35 and why did I buy it, because I drove everything in the market and decided this was the best car for me and my needs. Why bash something you "supposedly" have? Maybe his daddy has one and he has a bad relationship with him and feels the need to lash out.

G35 is a GREAT car, if I wanted the best handling and fastest car, I would have sold my soul to the devil and bought a McLaren F1.

the M3 handles MUCH better than both S2k and G35 coupe combined. those cars are on rails. even tho they may be heavier, its a BMW suspension M tuned. the car keeps up w/ porsches

I think you mean the M3CSL.
the M3 will not out handle the G35C by much. At the track and Auto-X, given equal driver, the S2000 will be faster than the M3.

I can show you a vid where the S2000 outhandles Ferrari's. I'd rather outhandle Ferrari's than keep up with Porsches.

I'm not saying that the S2000 is better than the G. I drive the G every to work but on weekends, I take the S2000 out for fun. Each car has its own merits.

After owning the 05 G35 6MT for the past month or so, I've found the stock suspension to be a little on the soft side. If you can run over a coin and feel the date on it, that's a tight suspension. Any how, the G35 is a pretty nice car. For more of a speedster or performance car, the S2K is probably a better bet. I like the 350Z, but I don't really like how it's only a 2-seater; the same goes for the S2K. If I ever get another car, I'd be interested in a Vette or Porsche; then again, I think I'd be bored of any car if I've had it for a while.

Overall, the 350Z and S2K are a little small for my taste. I have to agree that the interior of the G35 is a little bit on the cheap side (what's up with the "Card Holder"?). I would have liked to see a better head unit, but the Double Din with the right unit could take the attention away from all that. However, don't neglect the great aspects of the G35c 6MT. The car has earned quite a bit of respect and if there's this big of a following for a car that's only 3 years old, there's definitely something there that's drawing the crowd. The G35 is always a head-turner. Out of the 3 types being discussed, the G35, 350Z, and the S2K, the G35 would have to be the most luxurious. So if you get this car, have in mind that you're purchasing a luxury car that possesses a flavor of sportiness.

Sorry man, I bought the car myself.. I dont know where you would even begin to infer that "daddy" bought my car. Maybe you believe this because half the owners on the forum are under 21 like I am.. But I purchased the car myself..

You have both cars? I thought you would rather invest the money? Instead of buying one car that will depreciate you bought two. Not to mention that you have to pay two insurance premiums instead of one.....great move! I hope you are not a financial planner.

I could afford a lot of cars, but I just purchased these two cars because its a lot cheaper than the other cars that I could afford[which means i'm saving money]. I rather drive cars that I could have decent fun in, instead of a civic Si and a miata.
yeah, lets team up and bash on the guy whos telling the truth
