Yes infiniti/Nissan have messed up options. I remember my father swearing about the options on our maxima before he bought it. He couldnt get what he wanted in the configuration he wanted. After asking the salesman he responded, that nissan polls Women to see what they want in options since women are the most likely to buy a new car.

Seems like bs.

 

Congrats., and welcome to the Wait Club. Had to order my no-Prem Pkg. IP 6MT as well. Looks like it's going to be closer to 3 months than two. Should be here within a month.

And I agree, it's worth the wait to get it the way you want it.

And just to add my reply to the pile, your only OEM interior choices on the IP are Stone or Wheat.

 

Well since you haven't talked prices yet, the sales person will say anything to have you come back and talk numbers. I suggest you call him and go over some numbers and options before going back to the dealership and be surprised that '05 IP doesn't come with Graphite interior. I would also tell him to fax you what he promises over the phone. That way if something is incorrect, you have more bargaining power.

 

If you're gonna wait 2 months, you might just want to wait for th 06 to come out. It would only be a couple more months, and you might get projectors (if the rumors are true).

 

If you're going to order:

I had one dealer tell me they would discount all ordered coupes by $1500 off MSRP. Asked another dealer if they would match it. They gave me $1750 off MSRP. This took NO haggling, so I'd expect that sort of discount at a mimimum. You might try to negotiate down from this discounted, ordered-vehicle price.

 

You wont get black interior on a white coupe for 05, infact, if you do, I'll pay your down payment on the car...given that this won't be a "custom" job for someone special (you) done in Japan.

 

I also heard that Graphite interior is no longer available with IP.
You may find one in stock somewhere tho.
