@#$% MAD - Tire damaged by America's Tire Company (56K warning)
#23
update...
finally....new wheel is here and mounted. I was a little worried to have America's Tire company re-mount the tire on the new rim. They were extra careful. They spent 670.00 or so on this rim.
Bob and David were actually and surprisingly well to work with. David said "if he wants a new rim...order it." And Bob came through...so acidents happen and they fixed it the right way! I'm as happy as to be expected and will still take some of my business there...

So who do you guys, (especially those with aftermarket rims), go to get new tires and such? Reading all these stories scare me.
I was at Les Schwab a little while ago, getting new tires for my father in law's car. I was watching the guys mount the tires. I watched one "toss" the wheel onto the mounting machine, and he missed, and the spindle put a deep gouge on the rim. I also noticed that the machine that mounts the tire, had this metal bar, that actually touched your rim, as it ran all the way around it.
I had my other car done at America's Tire company, and haven't had any problems so far, but that was before I bought aftermarket forged wheels. IIRC, I think their mounting machine, that metal bar doesn't touch your rim, as it forces the tire on.

even if it was the machine they use to take the tire off your scratches are on the wrong side of the wheel..
anyways go ask for a new rim..
edit: now that i look at it again looks like the dropped it and it rolled down the hill or something haha.. or went through a blender O.o... sorry =X
