Bird Crap Stained My Black G !!!!!!!!
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!
I've had my black g35 coupe for about 4 days now and I absolutely love it. Just yesterday, I stopped to run into a store for about 15 minutes. When I came out there was the largest splat of bird crap on the hood of my car. I almost pasted out !!!! I ran to the trunk and got a micro fiber towel and some water and attempted to gently remove it. To my surprise, it had hardened to the point where I was literally going to have to scrape it off. (the tears almost started at this point). Fortunately a little water made it come off with a few easy wipes with the towel. The problem is, now there a circular mark on the hood in the turds place. I've tried to wipe it some more with the water and the towel but it doesn't seem to be leaving. Don't get me wrong, the spot is back to the color of the rest of the hood (black) but when you look at it from about a foot away, it looks sort of like a grease stain. Could this turd have possibly ruined my paint or do you guys think a hand wash will get this off ??????

Try claybar and a good swirl remover followed by a polish (zaino or zymol)... I've had bird poop permanently damage the spoiler of a black, 98 accord before. Also, just last Friday at a CFL weekly meet, ChazM was showing me a spot on his rear spoiler of his black 2005 coupe where he had the paint bubbling up (reads completely coming off) due to the acids in the bird poop.

birds suck. I used to have a black 95 240sx. I wound up with several places where bird crap did exactly the same thing to my paint. I have become convinced that birds get great enjoyment targeting cars to poop on, particularly freshly washed black ones. Especially pigeons... worst ones. Good luck in getting the spot out... I never could. That is part of the reason I bought a DG G35 not black. I love black... but it is such a PITA to take care of.

Best thing to do is wax at least twice a year, if not more frequently ( i do mine about once a month). That way the was will help protect your car when the birds do what they are going to do. The wax will protect your finish from the acids in the bird crap.
Then the other thing is to get it off ASAP. Carrying a micro fiber is a good first step. I'd also carry some kind of detail spray (I carry a bottle of Meguire's Quik Detailer) to help with the removal.
The one other thing to do is don't park under any telephone or power lines.
It's gonna happen, just try to prevent!

I had a black Celica get bombarded. It'd sat in the Texas 100 degree summer day...all day! I took it immediately to a car wash and when I dried it I noticed what looked to be like it removed the clear coat. After further inspection I realized the fresh coat of previously applied wax saved the paint! What was removed was the wax only! I DID have to strip the old wax off and start over (Meguiar's 3 step). :/
