High impact space material (Plastic), don't even think it is carbon lenses like in spectacles. One of the only things I don't like about the "G". Eventually they are going to turn yellow, chalky and hazy.

Re: plastic or glass headlights?
I use Plexus plastic cleaner. It is really some great stuff. I use it on my headlights, tail lights, and interior plastics, (instrument cluster, radio, & A/C display)
Plexus seals the pores in plastic surfaces with a micro-thin layer of shiny, protective wax, plastic becomes resistant to debris, oil, scratches, and eventual yellowing. And its anti-static properties repel dust and lint.

My guess is that they are polycarbonate (tradename Lexan) because it's one of the toughest transparent plastics. If it is polycarbonate, it experience loss of strength from exposure to chemicals. Once I was working on a project that used Lexan panels with holes in it for bolting to a steel panel. It worked great until I put Loctite on the some of the bolt threads. The next day it was covered with cracks radiating from each of the bolt holes with Loctite. The bolts without Loctite were fine.
