Power Window Malfunctioning

The power driver window in my '03 coupe has been malfunctioning. Sometimes it will not go up after closing the door. Other times, the window will not actuate when the button is depressed or pulled. It also has jerky motion when it does work. Has anyone else experienced this? Was it the motor or was it something else?

Sounds like your window regulator is on the fritz. There might be a TSB on this, but I'm not sure...

Yes a faulty regulator or motor. The issue is well know at the dealers.

Both mine went out, and I got both replaced free of charge. It's a known issue.

Both of my windows regulators have been replaced one at a time. If your window is stuck down you might try lifting up on the window button and with your other hand using a closed fist hit the inside of the door panel lightly by the regulator and the window may go back up (mine did) if it does go up don't lower it until you take it to the dealer.

most likely motor, i change them all the time.

like candyvp said, hit it with a fist with slight force, if it moves when you hit it, it's a motor.

Hey guys what about this. My drivers window goes up and down just fine. However, if the car sits outside when it is 85+ degrees the window goes all the way up and then immediately goes back down to about the halfway position. The only way to make it go up and stop is if I don't use the "one touch auto up" feature. WTF??? I have an 05 6mt with only 2600 miles.

your window motor needs to be reprogrammed. the window motor may have gotten reset somehow. it's common also.

take it to the dealership, or if you want to do it your self, take off your door panel, and where you see the three bolts for the window motor, you will see a black circular sticker. That sticker is hiding a rubber button for the window motor. its a little tough, but hold that down and make sure the window switch is connected and roll the window down first but do not use one touch. Then use one touch and roll the window up. This should reset the motor and it should work afterwards.
