i think the sidemoldings are hideous(spelling?).
and most doors are higher towards the top anyways.
So unless its some lowered civic the side molding will protect nothing.

To each his own! I have a lot more experience with this nose guard than the more attractive clear ones, but my local service manager has said he has taken two clear nose guards off at customer request. I will wait until I see more satisfied long time users of the clear one before I go that route. Besides, I 'm running out of $ with the wheel mods and XM SAT purchase.
