I also heard that if you install two Tornados your gas mileage will triple and you'll save the world from WMDs. Anyone try it yet?

Actually, adding two Tornados creates somewhat of an anti-matter/matter combination where the Earth will momentarilly flip its poles and the Northern hemisphere will flush toilet bowls COUNTER clockwise until the Tornados are removed. This is unless you have a right side drive car. Then you'll just have to drive on the left side of the street and play "Its a Small World" to be normal.

My bad, I knew I got some part of that wrong. Thanks for the enlightenment, I'll spread the word on the other forums... and I'll return my Tornados to Autozone...

Lowrider, Your cover looks good, and for what it's worth, I kept mine on too and liked it.--even with my Crawford on.
To me it finishes the engine bay nicely (along with the R.S. batt. cover).

True, but realize that part of the trailing edge has an odd angle that could cause a boundary layer to form. Air would stall across it negating any positive aerodynamic effect over the entire surface. I wonder why Nissan hasn't added a gurney flap to alleviate the problem.

If you put on 4 tornados you can travel in time. Only with the VCS engaged though.

I didn't think the cover would fit with a Crawford??? How much did you have to cut off?

It fits but not perfectly. I got a little rubbing on a couple places and had to modify the front bolt-downs but it was ok.
Lowrider's 'trimming' was good tho for permanent good fit.

When I installed my plenum spacer, my engine cover rubbed the inside hood insulation and the engine cover now has its paint rubbed off in two places. Any idea what paint code the silver is on the engine cover and any particular brand of paint to use to touch up these spots?

Sorry for the newbie question but what does the plenum do? I see tons of people swapping this out first as a performance mod.

Most cars today have a lot of plastic covers which hide the components from the average user. I she didn't know any better my gf might have thought her Mazda3 had nothing but a hose or two under the hood! lol

Think of the airflow like this
->Air
->In Airbox
->Through Filter
->Out Airbox
->In G-Tube
->Passing MAF Along the Way
->Out G-Tube
->In Throttle Body
->Out Throttle Body
->In Plenum
->Air's split up into each cylinder

Some believe the cylinders closer to the front of the car get less air than the ones closer to the throttle body (airflow), so the theory is that a larger plenum helps.

Wow, I never knew that either. Learn something new everyday. I took the cover off, and I am very happy with it off. I like seeing the mechanics of the engine rather than the "pretty" cover, even though the cover does give the engine bay a nice clean look.
