And I still do to this day, because I respect everything they have done for me and all the sacrifices they have made. Thats why I dont drink and I dont smoke, because I would feel bad if I did anything to hurt them. Well, besides that this isnt a lecture, yeah my uncle knew we were taking his car. But he didnt know it was my first time haha, I guess everyone does some dumb things when they are young, but at least its better than doing other stupid things like others do or did growing up. But, at least I got the hang of it and stuff, and I was pretty darn proud, I just dont know why people always gotta bash other people about stories they share in a friendly way. I thought it was pretty cool because it was an accomplishment, you dont hear me bashing you do you?

This sounds like a good attitude to me.

If you want to go with a stick, it doesn't hurt to ask. Make a deal - work part time to help pay the difference or something.

You're a lucky guy to have such a great car at such a young age - I just got mine and I'm over 40 LOL. I don't hold it against you - sounds like you respect it and your folks - can't ask for more than that.

Exactly, if you can afford it, then more power to you. I think you should try to work something out with your parents, and maybe make a deal to pay the difference. That is what I did. Mom continued the same monthly payments, I just payed the difference.

Lastly, the clutch will have to get replaced periodically as it wears out, compared to the relatively low maintenance of an automatic. Hope this helps!

Man, am I the only one that actually attempted to answer this guy's question about the trannies??!? You guys are harsh, please don't be judgmental, God gives everyone different situations in life. You just have to remember to take responsibility for the gifts he gives.

Anyone else find it crazy that kids these days get rewarded so nicely for not doing crap they really shouldn't be doing in the first place

All I can say is be happy with what you have and consider yourself terribly lucky. If you want a stick, buy it yourself. You're 18 and an adult now.

Just answer the damn guys question and stop crying because you didn't have one when you were 16. I didn't, I'm happy for the guy (not kid) wish I had that cool of a car when I was in Highschool.

I'd stick with what you have, I've always eyed 6MT, but in the end game, as long as your not racing, (which I hope you aren't street racing) stick with your decked out AT, Trust me.

If you want to shift, Tiptronic it out.

I don't think they would be losing any money at all, if he had the car for 3 years the principle should be pretty low....probably around $15k, the dealership would atleast give him $24, no?

and some of you need to give this kid a break, cause he def seems kinda humble, and just wants an honest answer.

I'm 23 and i bought the car myself, just lucky enough to have a job that pays very well. but any1 of us would love a FREE G35.

BTW if u do trade it in, make sure you get an 05 or 06, you def dont wanna miss out on the projectors that are gonna be in the 06, so you have some time to kiss a lot of a$$ or work hard and save up

lol, what does this have to do with anything? I was talking directly to Texasscout, was it his car that GB drove? if it was then i'm sorry i posted, if it wasn't then you should probably just shutup before you say something dumber.

Also, yes, if i let someone take my car knowing that thye might stall it 5 times i wouldnt mind, since i let them.

Why? Why should he do anything? What if his parents grow money on trees? What if they wipe their a$$ with money? Then why should he pay the difference?

Why does everyone feel like they need to tell him how his family should manage their finances and spend their money?

Leave the guy alone, this post has nothing to do with that and i think all of you need to quit hating on him becaues his family is loaded and yours isn't.

Actually, our posts have everything to do with the topic. He asked this:

"What do you guys think about it, and what ideas do you have for talking to my dad about possibly trading in my car. Or do you guys think I should stick with what I have and possibly get a stick car for my next one! Thanks guys."
He asked what we think about it, so we are telling him. He also asked how to ask his dad into trading the car in, so people are telling him to pay the difference. Read before you post buddy.

why does every topic have to end up being some overemotional b.s. abt earning ur car and kids driving our car, and blah blah blah. how about we just talk abt our cars and not dumbass snobby kids that get the car from mommy and daddy?
