Oh well, maybe no more G for me.
MrB... Can you outline what you "ordered"? Just wonderin why it's so hard to find what you are looking for. In all the US, they don't have a car at least "close" to what you want? It's not like there are tons of options.

mrb, you lost the point.
people are trying to say that its worth your bucks to spend parts for OEM products.
IMO, OEM parts are worth every penny unless you have 20g laying around to swap everything like a show car.
anyways, what's your decision?

It sounds like he ordered a G with a sunroof but without the premium package.

To answer the other question...
OEM parts are not worth it in the case of the Blose stereo TO ME. The 6X9's are just more chit I have to pull as I won't need them, same thing for the Bose Amp. I'd pay for it, if I thought it was worth it, but I don't.
For whomever asked....
My decision is that I'm getting my deposit back, and I'm going to wait until the end of next year when this new $40-50k Honda model will be out, the all new G35 and perhaps the GTR (dunno if it'll be available for sale by then) and pick which one I want out of the 3. If I have to wait until October then *** it, I'm going to knock some other stuff out that I need to get done with the $ I have allotted for this car. The timing was good for next month but with this *** up, it got me thinking and it's only one more year for some new models to be out so it's worth the stretch. One year ain't nuttin and I always have at least one motorcycle in my garage to tie me over until then. There is a long damn thread on here that I read when I first joined about financial responsibilities and debt, which is a really good thread that everyone should read if you have the time. I'm done making quick $30k + decisions with cars. Time always buys you more options, if I can restrain myself and wait I'll be able to comfortably afford something more expensive with more performance and not cut into my bike money
In the GTR's case, I think it's worth the stretch, sounds like it's going to be one helluvacar, and I'm not going to be sweating the payment if I'm smart with my $. Until then I'd like to hang around and enjoy the banter here, it's been fun.

1 year isn't a lifetime, as I said before I don't want to buy the last year model, when a new one is due so soon.
Living life to the fullest for some people is living without any debt, sorry, but I'm not going to die tomorrow, so it's guaranteed I'll be here
Sunroof without premium pkg. That would have been rare.
I don't see any problem with ordering and waiting for what you want. If they had a loaded-up '05 IP 6MT (with under 100 miles) that they were willing to sell for $32k, of course I'd go for it! I'm sure I could live with a sunroof again.
But the bottom line is that I really don't want the sunroof and the majority of the other options in the premium pkg, and I would have almost certainly paid extra for those items that I didn't want, regardless of how much they discounted it.
Again, if I'm getting such a discount that all that stuff is free or a $300, no problem. But why plunk down another $2K-$4K in options that you don't want, just to increase the luxury appeal?
You guys are going to think I'm crazy, with a 'hardtop' 6MT that's going to have the sport attributes emphasized more than the luxury attributes.

This whole thing is being over thought. Everyone's fighting on their Principle's not reality. The reality is your not going to get your rare non-prem w/sunroof unless you wait another 3 months. If you pay for the premium pkg you can look at it as paying for an expedited delivery. It is what it is...
The Infiniti dealership is not going to lose money off their bottom line to make you happy. I would probably just go to another dealership or try to get the premium package at a steep discount... Is it really worth venting about it for the next year or even the next few months?

as long as you are responsible with your finances debt isn't an issue. it can actually help you.

Debt in a car is a money pit. Sure, I do it, lots of people do it, but it's fiscally irresponsible; it doesn't increase your worth, and you pay more than the vehicle was worth when you bought it NEW, and the value never does anything but decrease.

So now you don't buy the first or last year of production which leads you to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year... You probably shouldn't buy the 2nd year production because there's probably going to be a body change, interior change or even a hp/tq increase. Well waiting for this one, you'll quickly see that these changes are reserved for the 3rd year so you'll hold out for that one. Then, by the time late in the 3rd year the changes are announced you say, I only have to wait a few more months for the 4th year production at this point. So, you wait until the 4th model year production begins and you go ahead with your order... only to have the dealership HOSE YOU OVER AGAIN! Now you're back to square one and you are still driving around your bucket with the cool stereo of yester-year sitting in a box in your closet...

I have no problem with a first year car. But I'll save all your comments, study them, and live life your way instead of mine
