Sounds like you are in the market for an SUV. If possible, take a look at the new Odyssey by Honda. Available with all the trimings (NAV, DVD, Auto doors, Reverse camera). Very comfortable and at 255HP, it's not your average Mini-Van. They are offering awesome deals to get rid of the 05's...at least in So Cal.
LOL!! My wife's lease is up on an '02 Odyssey with leather and DVD. Definately a great ride! Talk about drama-free cruising at 90+ and chumping sport-compacts.
The '05 is cool, but our problem (especially being in West Texas) is that (like most minivans) it's built on a unibody car platform with a strut suspension that isn't up to the task of hauling all that weight around on bumpy roads. At 45K miles, the struts are pretty well shot. When it comes to a large vehicle (SUV, van, etc.), a body-on-frame design with heavy-duty suspension lasts a lot longer out here.
The Pathfinder is now produced on Nissan's truck platform, which makes it a perfect candidate... ...along with the 3rd row stowable seats and rear-seat DVD.
But yes, the Odyssey actually made me proud to drive such a minivan. I know I punked plenty of chumps in the city and on the highway... ...IN A MINIVAN!
BTW, got approved for 5.9% APR through Infiniti Financial. Didn't expect to see less than 6%, at best, so I'm taking it.
