G's in!!!!

Sorry, no pics yet, but I was just too damn excited.

Some of you may realize I've been a G-less lurker for a long time now. I was expecting delivery mid-July, so imagine my surprise when Shaelea from Austin Infiniti called me this morning to tell me my '05 IP 6MT has arrived early and is on the truck outside their dealership right now!

Just started the paperwork this afternoon (via fax, since I'm 4 hours away). I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to pick it up or have it shipped out here to me. This week and weekend are pretty busy, so delivery might speed things up.

I'll post pics when I get it, along with some parts pics. Hopefully I'll have modified pics (at least cosmetics) by the end of July.

Looks like I better determine which size and offsets I'm going to run so I can order my Volks.

lol

I'm married, have a 3yr. old son and my wife is due with our daughter in September... ...and I'm the sole source of income. Up to about 3 years ago, I also would have been on the road by now.

I'm definately excited and can't wait to drive it!

Tough decision....drive the new ride for 4 hours going home. But you want to be there to pick it up. Sounds like this was a cancellation by someone else which resulted in you getting the car early. I know that the cutoff date for orders in May was May 7th. It is highly unlikely to have your car built and shipped from Japan in about 1.5 months. Therefore, you should be there to make sure all you wanted are on the car and don't pay extra for stuff you didn't order. Good Luck!

I would have it shipped. Since the manual says dont' keep the revs constant in the first 1200 miles, you would have a hard time driving back, contantly shifting and/or speeding up and slowing down.

Brother make the time and go get it! Just think that if you ride all over the rpms on the way home, all those miles towards breakin are done! Just don't hit the cruise. The screaming (kids and wife) are going to be there no matter what you do. Enjoy and congrats!

Thanks all. And I appreciate the words, Fugaezi. After reading a couple of posts about people getting their ordered car in, only to find it was the wrong color, etc., I contacted the dealership to confirm my color combo and options. All is good. The odometer reads 13 miles, which is exactly how many miles were on my ordered '97 Mistu. GSX when it rolled off the transport truck.

Still trying to decide if I'm going to have it shipped. My opportunity to drive there on Wednesday fell through (board meeting ). Yeh, my mind is really going to be on the business at hand. Still waiting to find out what APR Infiniti Financial will do, which will help me make the choice to pick it up or have it delivered.

My only concern about having it delivered is that I won't be getting to visually inspect it first. Of course, I'm almost certain I'll get a few rock chips if I decide to drive it the 4 hours home. Lots of 2-lane highway (70mph) between here and there... ...with no idea if there's any road construction along the way until I hit it. And this is Texas, so getting stuck behind a slow-moving truck AND getting passed by a rock-spitting, ***-hauling truck are almost certainties.

Congrats man! Shaelea said it would take up to 90 days, so exactly how many days did it take for you to finally receive it? I might consider ordering now that it is less than 90 days.

They were able to place the order May 7th (several days after I placed my order and gave my deposit), so it was 51 days total.

I had heard that a lot of people were getting them in closer to the 60-Day mark, but I was told to expect more like 90 days.

lol Thanks.

Next mod: A baby seat and a booster seat for the rear, covered in matching Stone leather and Alcantara.

The whole family won't have to be in the G often enough to justify even an extra set of plain kiddy seats. The lease is up on the wife's Honda van, and I think I just about have her sold on the Nissan Pathfinder SE or SE Off-Road w/ rear DVD. Going to test drive it this afternoon.

The neighbors are going to raise an eyebrow when two new vehicles show up at the same time. lol They just got used to not seeing (or hearing ) the big-block '55 Chevy Bel Air. At least I got them some headers and cats for the G.
