Ground Clearance - Coupe versus Altima
So after a good deal of research (Since Infiniti doesn't include these figures with the brochures or spec guides) I have found figures of 6.3 inches of ground clearance for the Coupe.
The same source lists the Altima 3.5SE as 4.4 inches - I find it impossible to believe that the coupe is nearly 2 full inches HIGHER off the ground than my Altima...
My reason for this is that my Altima barely fits over the abrupt lip of my driveway, and I fear the coupe will scrape...thus ending my coupe pursuit in 2 quick seconds.
Anyone have definitive figures or thoughts? I park next to a G35 probably 2 days a week (same guy) and from my hands and knees, I swear that his is at least an inch lower than my Altima...of course, it is possible that his car is lowered, but it doesn't look it...

I think Infiniti includes the .5 to .75" you lose due to the tranny, Y-pipe, etc. These items are actually lower than where the car's exterior ends. Also, ground clearance also considers wheel/tire diameter. Even though the coupe may have less wheel gap than the Altima, it may still have bigger overall wheel and tire diameter. I had to get my car towed once and it was done by a tow truck that had to actually drive it up a very steep ramp. I'm dropped about 1" and still cleared the ramp (barely).

Yeah, it's about angles - sorry I did not explain better - it is going to be a function of wheelbase/ground clearance at the midpoint of the wheelbase - essentially, my alley is flat, and then the concrete breaks and it is an abrupt downward angle of maybe 15 or 20 degrees (sorry, no protracter) its like a ramp going down
The problem is NOT the front lip - its the very center of the car - when it goes DOWN this driveway, the apex of the alley/ramp downward angle scrapes the underbelly of my car (well, ALMOST)

I have that problem too. at my work place the drive way is so steep going up that I rub at the front. Unless I basically come to a complete stop the edge of the front lip (stock lip and stock height) will rub, I've got quite a few gouges on the edge of the lip. At my friends house there is a steep driveway going down and no matter how slow or what angle I take the middle of the car rubs, and it rubs hard, sounds like I'm grinding the **** out of it. I can actually feel the car lifting up a bit at that point, if I come to a complete stop when it rubs the car actually will get hung up there and won't roll. I checked the underside and the Y-pipe and flex pipe are all scratched up, to the point that a few strands of the flex pipe are sticking out. Car is very low for stock so if your driveway is a killler you might want to take a test drive first to see how you do.
