Motor Oil and Auto Tranny Oil
how come no one even mentions about using 0w-30 oil? i know here in NYC, we get very cold winter. and if plan to go north for skiing in my coupe, i'll need some engine oil that can start my car in temp. below -10 F. And from my understanding, the lower number before W the better the oil in cold start. The higher the number after W the better it's for high temperature. So 0W40 is always better than 10W40 and 0W30 should always be better than 5W30 assuming all from the same brand using the same base oil. Amsoil is good but expensive. From I read in a documet called Motor Oil Bible (not sure where to find it any, it seems to be the best among all 5w30. Mobile 1 is the best for 0W40. Does anyone have any other research results on these oils?
