NJ - clear corners?

hi guys,
i was in NY yesterday, and a cop gave me a warning about my clear corners with white bulbs, he said they are supposed to be amber, I though only the turning signal has to be amber

If anyone knows the laws in NY or NJ, please share

thanks.

The front side markers must REFLECT amber. Clear corners with amber bulbs is still technically illlegal. I think you should be ok with just sticking amber bulbs in your clear corners. You have to love DOT regulations in the US!

WTF? Where in NJ are you again?

The cop must have been pretty desperate to pull you over for that. I honestly would have laughed at any cop that pulled me over for my clear corners. I never even thought that many cops would even know about the clear corners law.

Honestly, I would just play ignorant any time you get pulled over for some crap like that.

You're allowed to have clear corners, but your bulbs can't be bright white. They have to blink amber. So as long as you use the stock bulb with your clear corners, you're fine.

Unfortunately, that's bad advice. There MUST be an amber reflector on the corner of your car. That's just the way the DOT wrote up the rules.

what do you mean blink amber, im not talking about the turning signal, im talking about the corners.. of which sole purpose is to illuminate the road in my opinion
