Exactly. Some people bring up the argument that they go to cheapie gas stations because "gas is gas" and its all from the same pump, which is all true, but like you say the additives are the difference there.

I used to go to Citgo and Raceway, which are somewhat "cheapie" stations to save a few bucks, but in the end its not worth it. One of the jackasses attendents shut my gas door with the nozzle and scratched it! But I do notice that I can last longer on a tank of fuel with the bigger name brands.

Check it out... The pumps closest to Almaden have four options. One of them is 100 octane.

Octane is octane. 91 in cali would still be 91 in NY except we don't have 91...we got 93.

Our cars would unlikely see a difference unless it's FI...otherwise I'm willing to bet it's not worth the cost.

how much is the 100 octane fuel? Can you feel a diff? I'll have to drive down to that area some time to see how the car runs gas higher than 91.

Don't confuse MARKETING COMPANIES with refineries..........[for the most part]Marketing companies use fungible pipeline gasoline and add a tiny bit [few parts per million] of secret sauce [detergent additives] unless they forget or skip it at the tank farm when the truck is being filled.

Chevron Supreme Plus. That stuff is so sweet that if you have a car with a clear fuel filter you know that it looks just like marashino cherry juice.
