Free Oil Changes for Life

When I purchased my new 05 G35c the dealer gave me this certificate for free oil changes for life as long as I owned the car. I wasn't aware of this seeing how I purchased the car 30 miles away when there was an Infiniti dealer 10 miles from me. The certificate is only valid at their dealership and only at the 3750 mile intervals.

Anyone else have this? I'm not sure I like it cause I don't know if I wanna wait 3750 miles until an oil change, especially during the break-in period. Not to mention I'm not sure they use synthetic oil and being a religious Mobil-1 user, this irks me. I think they said something about if I had someone else change the oil, it would void the certificate or something.

Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

Going through the same delimma. I have a 2 years of free oil changes and I'm at 3.5k plus miles. I want to use Mobil 1 synthetic only as well. I'm just going to call my dealer and ask what they use. If I use my dealer I may even ask for the empty bottle with the receipt.. just to be sure the mechanics are being honest.

Its the dealers choice to have such programs...usually incentives and for people who payed THIER price hehehe But I would take advantage of it since its free and Infiniti knows best, and NO Infiniti dealer can say SHlT if anything ever goes wrong because it will be in the Infiniti computer database.

I too have this free oil change for life. But apparently at this dealership, they require you to also do all your maintenance at their dealership also or else it would void the free lifetime oil changes. This is at Infiniti of Thousand Oaks in CA.

I have on of those booklets... I have 7000+ miles and my booklet is on about 15000+... I brought the car in to service after 2 weeks of driving with only 100 miles and asked if I could use the coupon to have the oil change and they took it... So I guess you don't really have to use if on that exact mileage stated...

I'm surprised that they don't have Mobil 1 already, but if not, ask them to get it in for you and pay the difference.
I doubt they'd mind if you changed the oil out a couple hundred miles early.

Good news!

Two things:

First off, WHY are you people changing your oil after "breakin"? There is absolutely no need to do such a thing, or ever change out of the 3250 intervals.. Do you have any idea how conservative even 3250 is??

Second, my Infiniti dealer are the only ones who I will go to for an oil change. They do it at a good price, only slightly more than the other places, but they inspect everything, check and top off all fluid levels, give me a free car wash every time, and they can do any warranty work that needs to be done, and I trust them. My Infiniti dealer uses Mobil 1.

I believe many dealerships use Castrol non-synthetic. I wouldnt worry about getting it changed early, they are the ones doing all the work so if something goes wrong, they are the ones that have to fix it.

I paid $100 over invoice (and during summertime) so I walked out of that one a winner.

Hey hey, a T.O. buyer here too. What are the odds?! Are you sure it's ALL maintenance? I think it's just you have to have the oil changes done there or it voids the certificate. I hope so, cause I have an Infiniti dealer closer to me than the one I bought the car from. How many miles are on your G35? I'm thinking of just paying them to do an oil change at 1000 miles since they won't do it for free until 3750 miles.

Mine's not a booklet, it's just a certificate that lets me have oil changes for life at the 3750 mile intervals.
