Coefficient of Drag
I am surprized at the drag numbers for the sedan vs the coupe. The coupe is rated at .28 with the Aero Package (.29 without). The sedan is rated a mere 0.26 with the Aero Package (0.27 without). How can the sedan have less drag then the coupe? I guess looks can be deceiving because although the sedan looks sweet the coupe looks much slipperier and sleeker to my untrained eye.

You'll be surprised. A huge grandpa car like the Lexus LS430 also has a coef of drag of .26, while a c5 Vette has a Cd of .29. A low Cd doesn't necessarily require a sleek design. It depends on many factors among which the shape of the front and rear end, underbody, and wheel wells.

Low Cd helps mileage and noise, but you won't find any Ferraris looking for low Cds. Aero balance is key- downforce for drag. Can I reduce Cd while still achieving suitable downforce for the car's intended purpose. A good example of this actually comes from, ironically, a car descended from another that was once known for it's aero flaws- the Ford GT. It has a relatively poor Cd- well into the point threes- but generates great downforce, Of course the design team was hampered with trying to achieve something similar to it's predecessor in appearance. They did fix the "air under the nose" problem that plagued the original GT40. An example of better aero balance- the new F430- tons of downforce by relatively slippery car.

Smaller *** makes lower CDs. That's why Lexus LS has low CDs ( I thought it was 0.25, somewhere around there) If you see it, the back is more narrow and compact compared to the front, which makes it look kinda nappy but glides through wind smoother. Just like an airplane.
