My personal goal was to just get 300 hp to the crank without spending a grip of money. I didn't want to spend alot of money because the gains aren't too significant compared to FI. To help me reach my goal of 300 crank hp (hopefully) I installed:

Z-Tube
K&N Filter
Grounding Kit
Crawford V5 Plenum
Greddy SP2 Muffler
UR Crank Pulley
Reset ECU

An ECU relash is basically wiping your cars computer clean of factory settings and then re-loading them with more of a performance idea in mind. You can reset/change things like Air/Fuel ratios, Shift points (Autos) and other things that are set with "economy" in mind at the factory.

I assume this is not done with the pedal method? Do performance shops do this for you?

First time I hear the Z tube doesn't fit. Early 03's had issues with it touching the A/C line, but that's about it. The only issue with the pop charger in Florida is the heat, so you might lose a hp or two with it. Before you get the Injen, do some research on the hydrolocking problem and see if it's common on the G. I've heard about it but haven't researched it.

There's an interesting article in one of the current "Tuner" auto rags where they compare at least four different FI units in Nissan Zs. At the end of the article there is a section about a guy who swapped out his rear ratio, did some suspension mods, and ended up lapping the track FASTER then ANY of the cars with FI (which had around 400hp). I apologize for the vague description but perhaps someone else could fill in the details. I think the rag was "Speed".

This sounds like the best idea. On my bike I just dropped one tooth in the front and added two in the back and wammo! The front is in the air through three gears! It doesn't add horsepower but it starts the party alot earlier! I would definitely be interested in more info.

in a word................NITROUS!

for about $500 you can have 300+ RWHP. even more can be had, but that should be available by adding a 60-75 HP shot. Aren't guys spraying 125 shots getting rwhp numbers of about 350+?
