Im pretty sure they would know. If I slashed the tires theyd say call insurance, if I got a flat and the tires were worn theyd patch it up and say get a new tire on your own lol.

They'd still be measured for wear & discounted.

I also have Infiniti's tire and rim package. I mostly took it because I was afraid of bending a 19" rim on a pothole of something.

If you have a flat, do they replace the tire? I thought they would just patch it.

If they can patch it, that's all they'll do. It's hard to argue they do otherwise, as most tire manufacturer's warranty will remain intact on a properly patched tire. A plug is a different matter.

Most places won't plug high performance tires (ie Z rated). Actually, the tire companies say not to because it isn't safe. Now with that said, I know some shops do. Just becareful. Right now I have 1900 miles on my tires (and car). They look fine so far. Now coming from a TTZ, I'm expecting 10 to 20k miles on the tires. Now my father has a turbo Lexus GS300 and got 50k (about 20k turbo'd) out of his tires before he changed rims. He had another 10k miles left on them. He had Michelin Pilot Sports (17" 265s)

I have the OEM 19s with the Bridgestone Potenzas; treadwear rating is 140 so don't expect long life. I just hit 5K miles yesterday and my tire wear so far is OK, plenty of meat left; no noticeable wear. My only complaint would be excessive road noise at highway speeds, this tire/wheel combination is loud. My car also goes straight as an arrow.

I also have the 05 6MT with the Potenza's in the 19's. Yeah, they are loud. However, take a look at this when I had to brake hard on these bad boys:

I can't say it is only the brakes that played a role in this and partially the tires too. I'm guessing I'll probably replace the tires at 15K like others in here. I do like the way the 19 looks compared to the 03-04's though. So, I'll live with the noise and better traction (I heard the 18's had horrible traction on the OEM tires) and know that I'll need to replace them at 15K miles. Maybe I'll look into something with better noise control and traction later.

accident damage only on the warranty. i think the last time i looked over the actual wording, it only covers your original set of tires. after that it only covers the rims. ill look into that if i get the chance.

and yeah, the outside and middle of my tires are fine, but the inside edges are gone. i think im replacing them next week...

yup... these 19" OEM tires are loud. Most, if not all, summer tires are very hard rubber. Try using high perf. all-seasons which are softer rubber and will reduce road noise. I had Falken Ziex 512 on an 18" rims on my old Lexus IS and it reduced the noise a lot.

Sounds like us 19" guys need to find a good set of tires to replace the OEM's with. Something with a decent treadwear rating, good performance, and low cost. The mission has begun
