The car is great otherwise.

I shall proceed to crying now I get horrible mileage the best my tank has ever seen is about 305 miles for 17.5 mpg that was a one time deal too. on average I see a gas station every other day. And I've been calculating I'm getting about 14.1 mpg or so. My "E" light come on at 200 miles now and I drive it till about 250-260 and have to put in about 16.5 to 17.5 gallons at that point. DAMN and imagine when I get my S/C next week... = 0

Some 2 weeks ago, I gased up at a Chevron about 1 block from Hwy 280. I headed up to Auburn, which is approx. some 130 miles away. I exited at the Foresthills exit and went to the Chevron station, which is just right off Hwy 80 and gased up, again. To my surprise, I got 29.0909 mpg. It was all highway driving. My average speed was about 70 mph. Average outside air temp was probably 85 degress F. I had the cruise control on for probably about 50 of the actual miles driven and the AC was off and on for over half of the trip, as well.
Other than that trip, I will normally get anywhere from 16mpg to 20mpg.
And if you can believe this . . . This was with an engine, which consumes a ton of oil. The engine had approx. 2900 miles on it at the beggining of the trip.
