Is this a good lease deal?

Hi all, just got a quote on a lease on the G35C, what do guys think?

05 G35C 5AT, Premium and Sport Pkg, MSRP $37,700

- 39-month lease special with 700+fico credit rating score
- $1500 down includes DMV and bank assignment fee with IFS (Infiniti Financial)
- 12000 miles per year = 39000 miles
- $450 per month plus tax. In LA county = 8.5% = $488 inc tax.

i've never leased so i cant really help you there. but why not just buy it. for around the same montly payment (plus another year or so of payments) and you own the car!!! then sell it and get, oh i dont know 15 grand for it. plus, 12k miles a year seems kind of low. obviously depends how much you plan on driving it, but i think the average is 15k a year and you might get slammed for going over the mileage.
good luck.

Not the same numbers at all. Especially if you don't want to put anything down.

I just leased an '05 Coupe (5AT) with Premium, Aero, Sport Suspension, Splash Guards and Trunk Mat ($38,250 MSRP) on Friday. Price was about $600 over invoice. Ended up doing a 39 month lease/ 15,000 miles a year with no money down for $520 a month including tax. Don't put any money down if you can afford a little higher monthly payment. If you get in an accident and the car is totaled, you lose your downpayment. Also, the difference between 12k and 15k miles a year is only around $9-$10 per month.

When u say $0 down, you still have to pay certain fees right? Like license and tag, bank fees etc. The $1500 down payment on my quote includes those...

(the figures below are estimates)

I bought mine but leasing is a good deal if you change cars frequently. Lets round up and say the car comes out to $38K. Assuming you put $10K and finance $28K at the end of the loan you end up paying back like $32K with finance charges and 5 years later the car is only worth like $14K. Basically you paid $42K for the car but it is only worth $14K so you lost $28K grand. Now compare that to a lease.

$488 x 39 = $17550
+ $1500 dp
----------------------------
$20,532

In the end if you lease the car you only lose $20,532 and then when it is time to trade in you don't get ripped off on the trade amount. All you do is drop the car off and drive away with a new one. Also with a lease by the time things start to break it is time to turn the car in.

I find it so funny when peope think they build equity with cars. Yes you will have some equity once the car is paid off, but every year it loses equity. Your are not buying property.

Edit: Anyway who the hell wants to keep a car for more than 5 years. After 3 years I am ready for a new one.

Don't forget the increase in insurance that you may have to get (I did on my last lease and it cost a bloddy fortune more). Also ALL maint. is required and proof too. ANY damage (including certain kinds of wear) can be charged to you at the end of the lease (depending). And a well maintained coupe will be worth more than 14K at the end of 5 years. We ARE taliing about G35's here.

So your numbers will vary, but it's not as far off as that.

For me it was a 48 month lease. 800 down including the 1st months payment and fees (so basically 0 down), and i'm paying 490 per month. Buying is a better option since you could probably sell the car in 5 years and get a good chunk of your money back, you'd probably come out a few thousand ahead of someone who leased. However, the whole point of leasing is so that you can pay significantly less per month...I know i'm doing that!

thats a good price. Leasing is the way to go if you dont plan on doing any major mods(ones you cant reversse) and you are like me and want to get a new car every few years and keep the money per month down.

You got a much better deal then me because they mark up g35s around here and i had some negative equity i had to pay off.

I would go for it if i were you. thats a good deal.

i just leased a new G a month ago tomorrow i'm paying $486/month for 39 months and with 6,400 down. my credit wasn't that good and i get 12K miles a year. sounds to me you're getting a good deal.

if you like changing your cars every 3 years or so like i do, then a lease is well worth it!!!

by the way, i own a daily driver and i dont really mind having ONLY 12K miles a year, i even asked the dealership i only needed 10K a year, but they said that wasn't possible.

Nah, you can do it. I have leased 2 cars in the past and never did any maintenance from the dealership. Also that is BS about charging you for some wear and tear. My last car had a big dent on the passenger side, warped rotors, in dire need of a wax (scratches everywhere), and the only thing i had to buy was 2 used tires (50bucks total) for the rear, they were completely bald.
