Yea, I guess you could repaint the bumper twice for that amount. In the end, it will probably even out, unless you plan to repaint the bumper only once and if you can live with the chips until you repaint.

Mine was $670.00, which included the entire bumper, about 1/3+ of the hood, fenders, both side view mirrors, both door edges, and both headlights, which were covered in a heavier 30 mil material. The installation was perfect and it came with a lifetime warranty.

My wife surprised me with the install. I had decided to wait and get her some new furniture. After seeing our friends front end, she hooked me up. LOL . . . Needless to say, my wife still got a new living room couch and a new dining room table.

In my opinion, I feel that the clear bra expense was and still is well worth it, if you consider the potential alternatives.

I got mine thrown in with the car when I purchased it. They did the hood, front bumper and chin spoiler since I have the Aero Package. Looks good and definitely worth it.

mine was $500. whole bumper of the X, hood, door edges and mirrors. The X costs more than the coupe or sedan...dont know why though. Go to 3m.com for a list of certified installers in your area. They list certified and non-certified on their website, I recommend only the certified b/c if there is ever a problem, they will take care of it. If you go to a non-certified, they have to take off the film and send it back to 3m, then they will decide if they will cover the problem or not. The certified guys just replace it. They do all the work for the dealerships also, except the dealerships charge alot more, some up to 1500 for the same job.
