that is great soon you may sell your z06...get a upgrade on the vq35....
<hr></blockquote>
Not likely. I didn't buy the Z06 (or the G35C for that matter) so I could have people stare at me and admire my car. I could care less about that stuff. I bought the Z06 for me to enjoy, not to impress others. Same thing with the G35C.
The only way I'd sell the Z06 is if I lost my job or something and needed to raise cash. Other than that, its staying!

Re: Just about to get my new G
Z06ified, this must be coincidence. Just drove my friend's '03 Z06 for about 30 miles of twisties and highway. Congrats on your new ride! He autcrosses it, but I didn't want to "harm" it in any way even tho I've got driving school experience like he does.
The Z06 was v. nice, actually v. comfortable, not choppy, easy to shift (I actually think the g I've got is harder to get smooth shifts, but it must be me), great power and handling, I have nothing to fault it on. Frankly, I could see it as a daily driver, too. But then, I had a 6mt '93 new Vette that I did drive daily.
As to the G35 Coupe 6mt, well, let's just say that after my break in miles completed in the beginning of June, I took off on a long trip, about 2600 miles one way. And you're right; my first impression was that the GCoupe was a little stiff, what I'd call "jiggly" over bumps, undulations and just road imperfections, and a bit noisy.
But now I'm settled down to it and like a few here, I open the windows and drive with nothing on (equipment, guys and gals, not clothes) and listen to the exhaust. I'm considering a Borla, but it'd have to be pretty quiet so as not to make the car any more intrusive, what with all the interior and road noises combined.
I can tell you that, for over 700 mile segments of driving, it's just fine: you won't get out and need back surgery even tho the car's sprung and shocked pretty stiffly. It's quite enjoyable. Even traffic isn't bad, but in my heart I'd probably rather have an automatic if I was in traffic all the time.
Enjoy the ride and welcome!

Nah, I'm in Newport Beach. I only bought from Riverside because they had the largest allocation on Coupes of any dealer around here. So my order wait was less than my local dealers. I waited only about 2 months, versus over 4 months for my local dealers.

That's kind of a strange car shopping list. I mean they're not exactly comparable cars, and they are in entirely different price categories.

Yeah, the Z06 is remarkably easy to drive and comfortable around town. In some ways, its even easier to drive than the G35. The suspension actually feels slightly softer/smoother than in the G35C. The clutch is also lighter than the G35C. I just hate the Z06 shifter/tranny. Even after a Hurst shifter upgrade, it still sucks and is notchy as hell. Just not my cup of tea. I like the way G35C shifts much better. Everything else about the Z06 I'm very happy with though.

Yeah, it certainly could in a warm weather climate like I am in. Its very liveable as a daily driver. Psychologically, I couldn't daily drive mine though, because I keep it pristine. I go nutty when there is a bug splat on the car, so there is no way I would be able to handle all the crap that happens to a daily driver like door dings, chips, spills, etc.

No, you're right. The G35C is more difficult to shift smoothly. I think the clutch takeup is kind of grabby and sudden on the G. Although I have noticed it getting better as it breaks in. Or maybe I'm just getting used to it and am getting better at shifting it smoothly.

I guess you are too? I've seen a couple coupes around lately, a black and a red one. Can't wait for my silver. I have a friend getting a wrx sti so it'll be nice to compare the two.
