my bone stock quarter mile time for my 2003 5AT G35 coupe with 17 inch stock rims - 14.7 - my most consistent time, but i have hit 14.69 once at sacramento raceway.

Now on to infineon tomorrow and see what these mods can do-
pop charger
z tube
nismo grounding wires
stillen engine dampener
custom piping and exhaust.

lets see if all this stuff works.

did not do so well-

time trials - 14.9 win against an old porsche 944 - 16.33

eliminations- (dial in time 14.65)
1st round win - 14.8 win agains a subaru wrx sedan 15.2
(then changed my dial in time to 14.69)
2nd round - loss - 14.67 - broke out. loss against that same porshe I beat during the time trials.

By the 2nd round I finally realized something about "brake torquing". I get better times if I rev minimal than trying to rev it as high as i can when I launch.

I think I could have done a better time if I had another run.

 

Remember the weight of your car is important. Unfortunately the G35 is quite heavy in stock form. One quick way to shed some weight is to run your quarters with a very light fuel load. Try running your 1/4s with around a 1/8 of a tank of gas. That may help you to knock off a 1/10 or two.
