is it really true.......

is it really true that lowering your G could void warranty? After I lowered my car, Inifiniti of Tacoma wouldn't fix anything that was covered by the warranty, including the rattling sounds in my car. Though I had problems with the sounds before and they had fixed it before, now that it is lowered they said that they won't fix it.

I think you should put on a ski mask and run into the dealer and leave an unmarked box in the middle of the show room and yell "allah" all loud and run out leaving the box behind.LOL I bet you they'll get some act rite after that. j/k

ah damn, if i ever have a problem, I'm going to put my stock springs on before I take it to them, the only other dealer around is in kirkland, and it's owned by the same people...

They can do whatever they want. I had a friend of mine take his brand new, but lowered, Nissan in for rattle chasing. He'd also added larger wheels/tires. They refused him service because it was their position that the harsh ride created by the suspension/wheel/tire upgrade were what caused the rattles in the first place.

He called BS and drove out to the next closest dealer - about 25 miles away. They told him the same thing.

Ouch. True or not, they had him over the barrel.

If there's a possibility that your mods could have caused the problem, then they will more than likely refuse warranty work (on related items).

Next time, figure out exactly where the rattles are (window, rear view mirror, etc) and bring in print outs of the appropriate TSB's.

Infiniti of kirkland/tacoma is the only game in WA, so they can pretty much do what ever the hell they want(and they do). I would try what the others have stated, put your stock suspension and wheels on and go back.

rattles and such, i could understand. Maybe.

However, other warranty issues that have nothing to do with your wheels/ride height/harsh ride should be covered. Engine issues, window motor, gearbox, etc.

Yes, you can modify anything you like. When you run into a warranty or service issue, the dealer has to be able to link the modification to the symptom of the problem you're experiencing in order to deny service - as is the case here.

Tighter suspension + bigger wheels + lower profile tire = harsher ride. Harsher ride causes rattles (in their opinion), so no warranty work.

Some dealers are very cool about mods - they'll even install them for you. Others won't touch a modded car with a ten foot pole. It's a risk, but usually a small one. It really depends. If you're surrounded by dealers then you'll likely be able to find one that'll use common sense. If you only have one dealer close by (like many of us do) it would be smart to know their opinion of mods before you drop in that twin turbo.

Otherwise you could end up being the bunny...
