Need help on removing center console on 2005?
Anyone know how to remove the center console to get the head unit out on 2005 G coupe. I need to hook up some stuff back there and only have specs on 03/04 but 05 is completely different dash.
Help me out quick... THANKS GUYS

I'm trying to get a wire from the ashtray to the navigation system. Do I need to take apart the whole center console and glove box to do that, or can I just remove the ashtray and the panels (kick panels) on the lower right of the center console along wth taking off the glove box? Also where did you find instructions for removing the center console for the 03 and 04?
those illustrations are from the 05 G35 Coupe service manual... As for the ash tray, to truely get behind it you'll need to take everything off (including the clock). For some reason the service manual refrences removing the glove box, but it wasn't necissary when I had to do mine...
The instructions says to "Pull console finisher upward to disengage from console." What is the console finisher? Is that the 4" by 6" piece of aluminum that tells you what gear you're in? Or is the finisher the whole aluminum piece that goes from the ash tray to the cup holders? Thank you for your help.

First Remove Shift **** by pulling out that clip. (Put car in Neutral with parking break on) .
Then Remove finisher round shift **** (The whole part from ash tray to end near the heated seat buttons. . it is held by a few clips.) Make sure car is in Neutral and then whole assembly should just come out including the Ash try (u need to unclip some wires harnesses)
Next remove the 2 side vertical panels running on both sides. These are held in place by clips as well, start at the side near the shifter. It has a small plastic nodule that holds it in place so you have to kind of lift it over that .. Then remove the rest of the clips working up towards the navigation area. Do this to both sides.
Next you need to remove the silver strip that runs over the navigation screen (From dashboard towards the passenger door; also held in place by clips)
Next you need to remove the top portion by the clock; held in place by 3 clips.( pull it towards the back of the car..
Next remove the Bottom portion of the panel thats near the clock. (DO NOT need to remove the clock) just that bottom panel. It has like 2 or 3 clips. And should come off if u pry it and pull it upwards.
Now just remove the screws holding the HU, Nav, All Ac controllers. and your set.
I believe there are 2 screws near the ashtray area, 2 behind that sliver strip that you remove and there is 1 near the clock area.
Hope that works for you .
I wish I had taken pictures. Since I have taken it apart about 5-10 times.
