G35C Nav question

I'm going to be a future owner of a G35 Coupe and I wanted to ask a question about the Nav system.

1) Is there a monthly fee for the nav like the satellite radio?
2) Do all of the stereo controls go through the LCD of the nav system?

I can't wait for the car. Just have to sell mine first.

Re: G35C Nav question

Hi there, no montly charge for the NAV system, uses taxpayer paid-for GPS. (There is a charge for sat radio however)

Unfortunately, there isn't any linkage between the radio/CD/Sat/tape and the Nav display. The only linkage I know of is the nav voice commands mute the radio sound a bit as they are spoken.

BTW, the level of detail of the maps, at least where I drive, is terrific. You will enjoy it, even if you have to look separately at the radio display to see its info.

Re: G35C Nav question

Hey bro, Welcome to G35Driver. As Mark says, no monthly for the navi which may be one of the reasons it's such an expensive option.
The display for the navi and stereo are separate.
Good luck with selling your present ride. You'll really like the G. Stay in touch and post often......

Re: G35C Nav question

Cool, thanks for the info guys. The anticipation is killing me. I could trade my car in but I can't afford to take that big of a loss right now. Just got to be patient. =)

Re: G35C Nav question

Now that the main question has been answered is the NAV option worth it? Those of you that have it do you find it worth the extra $2000? I thought about the DVD mod but for less money I could just get a unit with a fold out LCD installed.
