Use a small flat-head screw driver. Wedge it in the small slot and then wiggle it to ease the part that locks upward.

Not sure about your second question, what are you wanting to do?

^ what he said. the inner part of the screw pops out first, then the whole thing comes out. when you put them back in, make sure the inner part is out also. then snap it back in.

you only need to remove the first 3 clips if you're trying to change the clearance strip. if you're changing anything else or want more space to work with then you can take the wheel off/remove the last 2 clips.

If I use a small screwdriver, I find that half the time, it'll just distort/damage the plastic clip, because it's wedged in so tight.

Do you happen to have a set of coaxial-cable crimpers? I found the end of that tool to be the perfect shape, as it can grab the plastic clip from both sides, to pull up the tab. Just watch where you're fingers are, as I "crimped" my finger once when doing this, when I wasn't paying attention. owwwww.....

If you break/loose one and you're in good with your dealer, they'll just give you more-so keep that in mind.

there is also a tool that looks like a fork, but only with 2 little arms that hook on each side and when u pull up they come right off. Its a nice little tool to have and they dont cost much.
