I think I got a good deal on my G... :)

Well I made the purchase! Finally got my new black on black G35 Coupe 6MT. I got the base 6MT because thats exactly what I wanted...I don't really feel any of the options, and the moon roof cust off my head room.

My final price was my VPP price minus $500 and an ordered and soon to be installed spoiler for $250.

My only problem now is that I'm starting to like the clean look of the car without the spoiler, i'm sure as soon as I see the spoiler again i'll want it....

Did I do ok?

I'll post some pics tomorrow

Sounds like a good price. The aero package for $250 will be worth it. I was in the same dilema when I bought my last week. At first I didn't want the aero package cuz I figured I could put a different spoiler on or get one from a junkyard for cheaper than retail. But the dealer gave it to me for $200 and now I'm soooooo glad I got it with the spoiler.

I just got VPP price also. You get 1.7% off, plus no destination charge or dealer costs added to the final price. Turns out to be around $2000 off sticker depending on options on your G.

No destination?

I was charged the destination plus the handling percentage. They said one was to get it to the port and the other was to ship it to the dealer.

Nope, invoice.
VPP price is "Officially" calculated as shown Here :

Dealer invoice
Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, etc.
Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
Plus destination and handling charge
Minus applicable incentives
Equals paticipant's purchase price

VPP Incentives vary by model and year and whether leasing or buying. Dealer incentives are still applicable. Dealers are not required to participate in the VPP program.

I bought an 04' auto in Sept. At the time, dealers were refusing VPP for MT's due to high demand. In the end, I got it for 8% below sticker. I've seen people do better without VPP, but not having to haggle was worth it IMO. It was pain-free.
The dealer may claim the number is auto-generated, but they are supposed to show you the calcs. I started at South Bay (Torrance, Ca.) Infiniti and the numbers were high. They wouldn't show me how it was derived. I walked and went to Thousand Oaks. They showed me everything. For the exact same car and sticker, the payment was $105 less per month than South Bay's offer. Point is, don't rely on the legitimacy just because it's VPP. You're cutting into profit margin, and they'll try to do what they can to get it back.
