i spoke to my dealer when i got the 04 coupe. guy said brembo's were discontinued b/c of cost. It cost them so much to put them on, and they werent selling enough G's with the Brembo's on them. They were losing money on the Brembo's so they just stopped it. They sell alot more Z's in a 6mt than G's 6mt.

 

Got 29K out of my original Brembo pads. Had them replaced earlier this month. Spoke specifically to the dealer about doing all possible to salvage (machine) the rotors. Maybe I got lucky, or maybe I don't drive as hard as you guys, but I got away with them changing only the pads (to new Brembo pads), machining the rotors, and my total cost being $500. From other stuff I've read, I think I got lucky.

And by the way, I'm willing to bet that 9 out of 10 guys here that say having the Brembos is no big deal, don't have the Brembos. Those of us who have them know how many heads they turn every day, and how awesome they look. Worth every penny.

 

If you can afford a G, you can afford to get the Brembos serviced.

Or just get a BBK - like Endless or Project u.

22k on my Brembo pads....Do I hold the record?

 

Yeah, I would have paid extra for the Brembos. It was the first thing, which I noticed when shopping for my '05 coupe.

 

the thing everyone forgets is that the 05 has better interior..so that adds cost too. i think its understandable and fair that they took the brembos out cuz they already put better stuff in the 05 than the prevoius models. oh and of course the bigger/stronger/lighter wheel on the sport package. so i think Infiniti did the right thing taking the brembo off to save money and put those costs into improving other things.

now, would i prefer having a brembo, HELL YEAH. but u can always go aftermarket and get much better brakes. not like they offer the best brembos on the G or Z. u cant compare this brembo to the ones on, lets say, Ferrari.
so sure they all call "brembo", but still diff. u can get a set of big break kit aftermarket for less compare to if they do offer the 03/04 brembos as an option.
