Need more bass for bose system!!!

Hi all, I need some more bass for my coupe but I dont want to change out any of my front speakers. Does anybody have any suggestions on which subwoofer and amp to get for my trunk. Any help will be appreciated. I was looking into maybe an infinity basslink which runs about 300 I think. Let me know what other options are out there.

Thanks

I got a basslink in my G and it sounds great. Don't have to buy a custom box, amp, and sub. It comes all in one. Highly recommend it.

Infinity Basslink is the cheapo Bang 4 The Buck bass solution. It should cost you around $300 installed. The Basslink won't shake the neighborhood, but it's good enough to compliment the stock Bose.

I had a shop do the installation for me for like $50~ Supposedly they splice the signal from two rear shelf speakers, ran a fused power line to the battery, and remote bass control mounted next to the stereo control. The actual unit just sits in the left side of the trunk snug~ No need for any additional mounting material, shove it in there and it'll stay - almost as if the Basslink unit was designed to fit there.

ahh. Thanks for the answer and pic! I was afraid to splice. Done this before and always got car noise in the speaker. Wa shoping for a direct-to-headunit install. Will have to pour over the audio forums.

Are you getting any unwanted noise out of the speaker installed this way?

Thanks again!

Do the 04's bose have more bass? I don't crank it up that high, but i just
use the EQ +3 bass and +3 treble and im set. No need for a sub..it'll be
too much imo.

I just did a basslink II in my car and no noise, great to install. Be warned, the basslink II is MUCH MUCH bigger than the Basslink. Not only do you get 50 more watts but apparently you get a big box that no longer fits in the corner of the trunk I bought it with the desire to do what Sukairain did, but instead had to spend about 12 hours fabricating a fake subfloor to mount the sub horizontally. Granted, it sounds awesome for the little price paid, but I lost space on the deal.

i thought the same but when you do turn it up it starts to get a little distorted. I've got an easy fix for that cause im just taking my old system from my last car and puttin in the G. w/ a little customized sub enclosure. where the spare is... cant wait to start the project.

Well, the stock G35C lacks bass because the 9"X6" shelf speakers do a pretty pathetic job at low frequencies. I am no audiophile but I can tell something is missing from the factory sound. The Basslink unit is not meant to be a 'show off' type ground shaking bass. In fact most of the time I keep it in a very low level to 'fill in' the hole left by the factory system.

I had the stereo shop install mine and I don't get any distortion. The only thing is that at very high volumes, I get reverbing rumbling when the car is turned off. Supposedly this is because G35 speakers retain power for appx 30 seconds after power is turned off or something...... Not a big problem since I never leave the speakers on high volume.

Stock SUCKS. If you don't believe me, come and listen to my stereo.
QSD's faded almost all the way up front, cant wait to replace the rear because they sound like CHIT.
