Went to LA...yikes!
San Diego is the same way, I tend to see a lot of Mercedes, yesterday I saw a sl65 amg. That is a sick car, too bad the maintaince cost is so high, oh and the price of the silly thing is a fatty down payment on a house
Mercedes 3 series is just like BMWs, E320, C320, SLK350, CLK350, E350, C350, etc. You know the cheapest cars they have. The people that just want the name and don't care about anything else, so they buy the cheapest car the company makes.

it sure is bout rides but it's NOT a driving city (not like u can really move much in a city with the worst traffic in the US). most of those with nice cars prob dont even know much about real drivings. LA is a city fulla rich azz peeps that HAVE TO HAVE super nice cars..or else they wont seem to be rich enough.
the saying is so true\: your car is never nice/expensive/unique enough in LA! maybe someone should buy a tank and drive that on the road. maybe that will catch some eyes. i mean even Mclaren F1 is on the road, what else can u do to top that? lol... maybe a hundai?
Wow, as much as I would love to see nice cars all the time, I like where I am. I am one of 3 G35 coupes (that I've seen) on the entire cape, and that is the summer! In the winter it is just me (now that the one I know is going to college, and the other goes back to florida). Trust me, i turn heads all day, and then some! I love it!!! Everyone stares! There are TONS of hooked up civics and ricers here too, and it is so much fun to just drive by them and show them up all day!!!!!
Yah, same here in MN. I'm the only G I see all day long. Another member here and I come across each other once a week, but that's about it. Our G is like the Ferrari you see in Cali. Everyone looks, and thinks you're a rich bitch for having a nice car. I'm starting to believe that owning a foreign car is a premium in itself. Nothing but cheap domestics in my neighborhood. Owning a nice car around here would be a Grand Prix. Now think of owning a G

Hell I had a riced out Civic stop and watch my car in a parking lot. I'm in KY and there aren't many G's in my area at all...and none are modded. Alot of people have no clue what the G is (unless they say "look at that 350Z") and they just can't help but gawk at it.
On a road trip after I got my G on 3 seperate occasions someone called my car a Z. I thought long and hard....then got the plate:
NOTTA Z
I know I drive a Nissan, and love the Z, and am not stuck up about the Infiniti badges...but people at least call my car what it is! I wanted to stand apart...Z's are all over my town.

what a previous poster said is exactly right. LA is nothing more than a city full of nice cars but nowhere to drive them. the purpose of buying a nice car here is so that other drivers can admire it as you're all stuck in traffic together.
that said, if you enjoy automotive design, there is no better city to live in. every year there is a huge LA Auto show at the convention center downtown, but only tourists actually attend it. LA residents don't bother because all of the latest and most expensive models are already out on the goddamn streets!
just the other day i walked out of a fast food joint and saw this car parked outside, illegally, so that its jackass owner could grab a quick taco. it's madness.

(taken with a camera phone, so forgive the awful quality. anybody know the model/make of this car?
)
