lol. don't worry. that was not an accurate statement. G35 sedans are common, but the coupes are just beginning to become so. they still turn a lot of heads. i came from an Audi A4, and all i did for the couple of years before i bought my coupe was gawk at them on the LA freeways. it is a nice a.s.s. car, even by this city's standards.

a more accurate statement would be to say that the current M3 is LA's Honda Accord. they are freakin' EVERYWHERE.

Don't know the model of the Mercedes, but I saw about a hundred of them like the one in that picture. There were AMG versions EVERYWHERE!

that said, if you enjoy automotive design, there is no better city to live in. every year there is a huge LA Auto show at the convention center downtown, but only tourists actually attend it. LA residents don't bother because all of the latest and most expensive models are already out on the goddamn streets!

just the other day i walked out of a fast food joint and saw this car parked outside, illegally, so that its jackass owner could grab a quick taco. it's madness.

(taken with a camera phone, so forgive the awful quality. anybody know the model/make of this car? )
CLS Mercedes. Check it. Not really supercar category.. Starts at about $70K. The AMG can get pricey.

Sadly, people riding in civics use the "word" SADFULLY.

Yes its hard to get notice here in SoCal. Even the spinners and lambo doors on my G hardly gets a second look...except in the Valley of course. Just kidding...seriously.

another thing about being l.a., it is full of ****** that are a dime a dozen like axiochris. mind you that this is a public forum on the internet and being the lazy ******* (regretfully or not it's another attribute that one gains living in l.a.) that i am at times i do not find any reason to justify whether or not i correct my typo's, grammatical errors or made-up words on the spot.

so axiochris i offer you a helping hand (something rare in l.a.--a good samaritan) in removing the yard stick you have from you butt being the internet english police that you are. otherwise, shut up. i will type in any manner i wish and however woefully wrong it can be.

p.s. dont categorize or stereotype what kind of ppl drive civics. thousands are sold through out, thousands can not be wrong about how great a car it is or can be. especially in the value for dollar aspect.

Sometimes I think my decision on cars really depends on the area I live in (in this case good old Los Angeles). I bought my 2004 G35 Sedan last year because of performance and that it wasn't a BMW 3-series. And for a few months, it was good. A Porsche owner complemented me on my car and a security guard also complemented me on my car. This was in the Santa Monica/Westside area where there are a fair number of luxury cars. Fast forward to the present, I see one parked on the street near my apartment and I am always guaranteed to see at least one on the freeway during my commutes.

Now my next car is probably going to be an S4 Avant... the ultimate sleeper (and a hellavulot more practical than my sedan). All I hope is that Audi's reliability improves greatly until then.

i was in LaJolla a few weeks ago and there were soooo many nice cars. Astons, Maseratti's, Ferrari's, Lambo's, and it seemed like every other person drove an AMG SL65.

i checked out this place and decided i need to make a whole lot more money... www.symbolicmotors.com

I see so many 7 series on 22s that I was starting to believe that they come stock that way lol

My friend also owns a Murcielago and a Ferrari. I saw an Auston Martin Vanquish last week on the 57 south in Diamond Bar

There is no doubt that LA, SoCal in general is the car capitol of the world. Nowhere else even comes close. I think this is why the people who live there try so hard to modify their rides, because if you don't, everywhere you go there is a car just like yours. It is no coincidence that the worlds biggest Ford dealer(Galpin) the worldest biggest Toyota dealer(Longo) and the worlds biggest Honda dealer(Norm Reeves) are located there. I remember reading once a few years ago that there were over 12 million cars registered in LA county. Think about where you live...there probably isn't even 12 million people. It is a completely different game in SoCal...it is where the import scene started and you can see why. As for being a drivers city, it is far superior to the bay area to the north, I have never lived anywhere that was as ptitiful a drivers city as SF.

dude, don't do it. i just came from an Audi. fantastic build quality, but parts are so goddamn expensive it'll make your head spin. and all sorts of sh1tty electronic problems. my goddamn sunroof would continually open by itself. i paid 1500 clams to get the marthafocker fixed, and after about two months it started happening again! fock those overpriced pieces of shiite.

According to the census beaureau, there are predicted to be 9,871,506 people living in LA county, so your figure on 12 million cars may be accurate. Having a G here in west LA is becoming common. And another funny thing is that most people living in LA that drive G's usually live in apartments. The people who own a nice home in west LA are usually the older benz,p-car, etc type folks. Still, the average monthly rent on a 2 bedroom apt here in west LA is the same as a 3500 sq ft home in the midwest.
