What is the fastest you have driven your G35CP?
What top speed is the car governed at? I have seen 140mph and I have seen 155 in the magazines. Which chip seems to be the best so for? Stillen uses the JET Tech. chip in their 350z.

There is no top speed limiter on the coupe. You are only limited by drag. Infiniti lists the top speed as 156.

I've gotten up to 120. I can't screw around too much since I'm on probation. The time I did 120 this kid in a riced out Honda Prelude was doing 60 in the left lane. I went to pass him and he took off. Why I don't know. I guess he doesn't like people passing him when he's busy holding up traffic. So I just stuck to his @$$. I looked down and we were going 120. Good times.

umm first of all there IS a top speed limitier on the G, it is in 5th gear and there's a rev limiter, which doesnt let you go over 5500 rpm in 5th. Top speed is about 150, some got a little higher, but the avg is between, 150-155

145 MPH, in my 5 speed automatic Coupe, It would not go any faster, but it still has about a thousand RPM's left, possibly without a limiter 165-170 is not out of the question,
Six speed manuals claim a little more speed, probably because of the gear ratios, but this is not bad for an automatic!

Yes it is limited, guess what speed (grin) 156mph, one of the mags mentions this fact when they tested the car. I believe it applies to all the FM platform cars. I've had my sedan to 145mph btw.

You are right Dabearz454,
I believe they limit the Rpm"s to about 5500 in top gear only for both the manual and automatic, because of the gear ratios the six speed probably has a higher top speed.

I did 155mph one morning in my 6MT coupe. I believe it was limited there. I didn't look at the tach so I don't know how many rpm's I was running.

According to the trade publications, there is no limiter. The 300ZX-TT did have one at 155 mph. So did Maximas, I30's and 240's. Nissan likes to use a soft limiter, but it doesn't just hit a speed and stop. It cuts out 1 cylinder at a time to reduce the power to slow the vehicle. If you hit 155+ and the car stops accelerating, you probably have reached the limit of the aerodynamics and power. In addition, wind direction and strength will have a huge impact on top speed. The easiest true test could be done on a dyno. Do a dyno run in 6th and you'll know. No aerodynamics to counteract.

I did 135 mph to vegas....with AC on and a slight incline. could have done faster but 2 semi-truck on right lane and slow car on my left lane.

Drag is not an issue with this car, guys. This is one of the most aerodynamic cars on the road today. A porsche GT2 has a .34 CoD and a top speed of around 185.
