question about heated seat

My past car was Acura RSX, the front heated did not had any ajustement. It was: WAY TO HOT or nothing.

Now with the 2004 coupe, there is two settings and the back is also heated, this is really nice.

It's still summer here so my test were fairly basic but does the heated function have a "auto turn off" or does the "butt" section does not produce heat that much?

I could feel the back getting warm but almost felt nothing under my butt?

I was wondering the same.

I borrowed my buddy's mini and thought my a$$ was on fire . . . now in my 03 6MT I can barely notice anything either. I can't tell if the seat is warming up from my body heat or the coil. I was going to wait until it cools down and take it to my dealer if I still can't discern a difference.

there's 2 settings on mine... low and high... i assume the older models had the same thing... my wife's mini also has 2 settings. can't remember how hot they get because last time i used them was last winter. but i definitely remember them helping in the dead of cold. i also assume that there is a auto shut-off which regulates the heat so that it's in a proper zone. i think all cars have this... but i could be mistaken. hope that helps a bit.

Exact,

I have seen some strange stories about 2003 coupe that had the switch for heated seat mixed up, a member here told me that. His left switch controled the right and right controled the left heated seat!! LOL, check that on your side and we will se what are the others have to say.

Humm, just re-read this portion in the owner manual and its' definatly a high and low intensity switch. not back and a$$...

It's also said that there is thermostat incorporated to regulate the temperature, so yes the system shut's down before burning your butt.

guess that's the differnece from my RSX, if i didint turn them off they would burn my a$$, in the g35 since the temperature is ok in summer the coil must stop pretty fast to heat.
