There are tons of G35C's in So. Calif. I see many Ivory Pearl, Diamond Graphite and Black G's while driving. I rarely see any Laser Red G's. I'm very happy with my choice. It's eye catching and sporty.- great looking. The care for the red isn't anymore difficult than another color. The used car deal you mentioned is a steal, but make sure you check out that car throughly. Good luck!

My first car was blue, second was silver, third was black. After that, red all the way - 7 cars, up to and including my 05 LR/Wheat 6MT. I found the black to be very hard to keep clean (duh), the blue I just did not like, and the silver oxidized to gray in 2 yrs (GM, so what can I say?). All of my red cars were fine IF I kept them waxed. My Miata finally got to the point where the front plastic nose piece oxidized, but the rest of the car is OK (8 yrs). The only car I had a real problem with was an older car "restored" with GM red, and it was easily scratched and chipped.
One thing I especially like about the red on a G35 is that the tail lights blend in to the body shape very nicely. I think it gives the rear of the car an "integrated" look different fron all the other colors.
