Lemon Law Help

Hey,

I need help, what number do I call if I think I have a lemon car? Its actually not a G35, its my moms Toyota Sequoia, love the car but we have a lemon on our hands, the axle fluid line and entire rear axel have been replaced 3 times !!! ... and various other problems have resulted from this damage, ( rotor and brake damage, ball joint replacement, ... etc etc etc)

Anyways if you can help me find the number for Detroit, Michigan, that would be a great help. Thanks

Go through the package of stuff given to her when she purchased the vehicle (manual, tire warranty, etc.). There is some Lemon Law info. in that stuff. It's required that they give it to you.

OR... ...The first hit from Google:

DETROIT METRO
Lemon Law Office
Consumer Legal Services P.C.
30928 Ford Road
Garden City, Michigan 48135
Local : (734) 261-4700
Fax : (734) 261-4737

First off, in order to have a valid lemon law case the issue needs to occur at least 3 times, and it HAS to be the exact same issue every time. Then you NEED to have all your paperwork from the dealership, the invoices from when you picked up the car each time after it was finished being serviced. This is very critical because its proof that you personally have in your hands without having to goto the dealership and ask for it. Also you need to contact the manufacturer (NOT THE DEALERSHIP) and complain at least 2 times, make it known that you have a car with many problems and that it has been the exact same problem each time, and that you are a very unsatisfied customer. If they dont offer to refund you or offer a NEW replacement (without refinancing), then you need to contact a lemon law Attorney.

Heres a few sites I found for you -

Good luck with it, I am going through one right now with my 05 VW GTI, I cant wait to resolve it as I am getting into a 6MT as soon as its over!

Thanks for the replies guys ...

Yea, we are fortunate to be related by marriage to someone really high up in Toyota, he's like the VP of advertising or something like that, so my mom has been contacting him, and he is aware of the problems. The same problem has happened three times in a row, we called the BBB for the lemon law case, and they told us we need to contact a local lawyer who works lemon law cases and file a claim through him, so I guess thats the next step. Thanks again for the help.

Another reason I'm really pushing for this lemon law is b/c the 05 sequoia has about 45 hp more than our 01 ... but yea we'll see what happens

I KNOW you are COMPLETELY KIDDING and there isn't a shred of truth to you statement about the 45 more hp. Right? I would keep such JOKES to yourself if you contemplate a lawsuit.

Most states limit lemon law suits to 12,000 miles, a few are at 18,000 miles or the first year!

Beyond that you have nothing but warranty [repairs]............
