Why wouldn't you drive hard when you have guy friends that buy you gas (and sushi)?

BTW player, try an ECU reset using the pedal method and see if that helps your MPG. Also, use the correct equation, not a blanket 18 gallons: (# miles driven since last fill-up) / (# of miles driven = MPG).

i live in the 5 borough of NYC and I see huge difference between my city and highway MPG. If my trip is on all local streets, my MPG is about 12-15. if it's all highway and no jam, i've seen as high as 25. is that normal? is our car using so much gas when idling at red light or stop sign? or low gear (1, 2) for stop and go? that's my gas.

Question, if I install a big intake, would that help the MPG or make it worse?

i used to get ~280 miles per tank.. which was pretty bad.. but a couple times after doing my own fuel injector cleaner, i've gotten up to ~360 miles per tank.. not necessarily saying the fuel injector did all that much, but i also started not driving as aggressive.. well, not really.. but city driving makes this car eat fuel like nothing..

It's not the idling that uses all that gas, it's the getting the G35's 3500lb *** moving again that uses all the gas. Each time you stop and have to start again is when you are killing your milage.

well just filled up, had 310 miles on the last tank, driving 80 % soft and 20% hard

i think i filled up around 16.5 gallons last time so that puts me at around 18MPG

I have an 04 AT and routinely get 22-24 mpg, with probably 70% interstate driving. I got 25 on a recent short trip nearly all on the I.

I just caution you to actually calculate your mileage based on the actual gallons consumed for the actual miles driven. Do not rely on the gas gauge as I expect the variance could be 10%+.

As a new member here, I'm looking to get rid of my 2005 Audi S4 and get into a g35 coupe. How good is the gas mileage? I average 10-12 in the city with the S4, will I see any better with the g35 coupe? All city driving.

10-12 MPG with the s4? thats pretty bad. most defintely the G35 would have higher MPG #'s

I get 20mpg combined City/Highway here in the traffic-congested Tampa area.

Our tanks are 20 gallons.. but nobody runs their tank bone dry until they fill up. Usually anywhere from 17-19 I fill up.

Player, where are you filling up? I used to get crap mileage until I started going with better gas stations. Exxon, Mobil, and Shell are mainly what I stick to now and I can go at least 325-350 miles before I have to fill up, and this is with mixed spirited driving, highway, and route 9 traffic!
