XM Radio: Aftermarket or factory?

I'm picking up my coupe tonight without XM unfortunately. Its a lease so i probably wont be changing the radio. I wanted to add XM and was either thinking a nice removable unit or getting the OEM xm reciever.

Are there any kits for adding an aftermarket xm reciever to the G35 without using a tape or radio based adapter? What are you guys using for sat radio?

My coupe didn't come with XM either, its best to order the OEM Infiniti XM Radio kit. I ordered mine from EverythingG35.com. Came in under $400. It took me about 1 hour to install (being extremely cautious around the trunk seal). I just don't like the fact of adding an XM kit that has to mount somewhere inside the cabin, to me it means more things to get broken. Plus the OEM integrates with the factory radio flawlessly.

You pretty much have to use the OEM radios unless you want to upgrade the entire HU, but the good news is its not hard to do yourself (under 1 hour) for a rear deck install.

The only disadvantage is the limited amount of information you can display on the factory head unit. You can't even make it scroll! But, it's still the best way to do it because, there is little room to mount an after market unit.

Factory is the way to go. The display isnt the best, but its probably the cheapest and you wont have to mount a XM unit somewhere in the cabin or replace the headunit.

OEM is amazing- I'm in Great West Palm, We've had some KILLER storms and the XM was crystal. And the Jazz stations are great (Station 70, "Real Jazz")
