Old? no
Smarter? Yes

"Stop light racing" is not going to tell you who is the better driver. Why don;t you try taking it to the track or an Auto X event? The guy driving the MT equipped G oviously is not good and shifting. With equal drivers it WILL be faster.

It takes a better driver in an MT to beat an average driver in the AT. Bottom line, unless the other guy has professional driving skills, he will likely lose or come close. The 6MT is not that much faster.

It's just a waste of breath to tell people not to race, so just save it and answer the question.

Well I have been driving stick about 9 months, and i dont think I'm a professional 6MT driver, I only lost once to an auto for about 3 seconds then i caught up. I have raced 350z auto, G35coupe auto, and G35 sedans auto and never lost a race. Yes i might be better than an average driver in US (not on this forum) but you dont need to be professional stick driver to win an auto G35.

My mods:
2003 AT Coupe
Injen intake, and no VDC fuse...

Does the VDC really make that much of a difference?

It really shouldn't make a difference. When I turn mine off it really doesn't kick in. I can spin the tires if I want (although the lsd tries to stop me).

It was probably the driver, or there was something wrong with his car. If someone doesnt know how to handle their MT, an AT will walk all over them, even if the MT is faster.

But with equal drivers the 05 6 speed will outrun an 03 or even an 05 auto, due to the sincrease engine output, right
