Brake Dust Irregularity

How come the front wheels have so much more brake dust than the rear ones? I have always wondered this, but I never got to ask. My rear wheels are soo clean while my fronts are noticeably more black.

Most of your braking is done with the front brakes. That's why the Front Calipers are almost always Larger than the rear.........

The reason is weight transfer. Most people think that a car's weight distribution, front to back, is a constant. Actually it changes depending upon whether you are accelerating or braking. When you brake hard, a significant weight transfer to the front occurs, thereby putting a lot of stress on the front brakes. Hence as others have posted, the front rotors are larger.

changing the pads will definitely help? I mean if this damn brake dust is a problem for me with stock wheels, it'll be a PITA to deal with when I get some nice rims. I can see the brake dust after one trip.
