My thoughts exactly. If you want more speed, don't take the hit by trading it in and instead use that money for a FI setup. I think you can get a decent FI setup put in for around 6k (vortech and turbonetics ST).

I've debated myself on getting one of these awd beasts but damn, the money I'd lose from just trading it in could almost buy me the FI kit.

Just get the FI for your G and enjoy the fact that you'll still attract the ladies but now smoke those STI's.

even if you go with evo and you see an M5, SLK 55 amg, RS4 ..etc you will still lose, what's the point ? there are many many cars out there will always be faster than what you have.

In deciding what car to buy consider what means the most to you. I think the G35 is beautiful, one of the best looking cars out right now. An EVO is butt ugly, but fast. Both the STI and EVO are 4 cyl turbo, If you were going to trade the G in I think you can do better than that. I was considdering a Supra or R33 from Motorex if I wanted to go fast. Ive just had so many problems with the my turbo lude, you always want to keep turning the boost up it never ends.

Check the insurance on the Evo / STi before you jump. I was all about the STi before I found out how much the insurance was (I'm 30 years old with a clean driving record). As far as the S2K, take it for a long test drive and make sure you can tolerate it as a daily driver. It's hard to enjoy a 3 hour drive with the engine reving at 7,000 RPM any time you get up over 65 MPH. In a word - Painful.

Quote: Same as everyone else, G35 is not for raing. Doesn't have the straight line power of many other cars. Here's another option. Try the GTO. Can't beat 400hp out of the box for 32K. Interior is probably nicer than the the G too.
i doubt the interior is nicer then the g 03-04 and def not 05.. thats why its 33k and a pontiac..

first off, you would end up losing money. save up, TT it and do some suspension.

like others said, those cars were made for racing, urs is a luxury coupe, you bought in the wrong department if you wanted a fast car. Yes, it is fast, but, but an STi was created to go fast and thats it. You have one of the nicest cars youwill get at mid 30's with a ton of power

STi, evo, etc. have a 4banger engine, it can only take so much power, u have a GIANT v6 with tons of potential.

when u see the STi come up again, have ur girl sitting next to u and that says enough right there...

problem solved!

GTO doesn't have a nicer interior.

I would disagree with your statement about the G not being for racing too. It's foolish to think it is going to walk everything in a straight line, but the car is far from being "not for racing."

If you wanted to get a fast sports car, you picked the wrong car. The G35 is quick dont get me wrong but it's not that fast. I like pushing the car a bit and it's fun but I know the car isn't fast. If you're looking for speed and only speed, then yes, something like a EVO might be for you...or better yet, get what I had, a MKIV supra TT. Relatively luxurious, rare, looks sexy, and hard to beat performance. I bought the G35 knowing it was a classier car which looked perfect at the office. If I wanted a fast car, I would have got a EVO or stuck with the TT.

Like these guys said though, if more speed is what you want, getting a supercharger should somewhat equal out to the trade-in loss anyway. Then you'll have a classy car with quite some kick also...
Personally I had my fun in my last car...this one will just look pimp

Go try one. The leather feels much nicer, thicker and the seat holds you in place. The dash materials feels better to me and I've been in both. In fact, the overall build quality seems better than the G to me. The gaps are tight, the body panels have tight fitment...no spaces big enough to stick the tip of your finger in. There's more but I'd better stop before I cause an outrage. I'm not saying the GTO is an overall better car but in some aspects it is.

I love how people are talking about how fast teh S2K is. Unless it's driven well, and hard, it is slower than the G. My best friend has a black one and its nice at over 7K rpm (in terms of speed). As someone said earlier, it is very loud. I however like the grunt that the G has and it works fine for what its intended for.

If I'd have wanted pure speed, I'd have waited for the new Mustang Cobra or gone with a GTO (which is not attractive and has a typical plastic GM interior). I think the G had the best of everything, else I wouldn't have bought it. The others you're considering are indeed fast, but butt ugly.

If the G isn't made for racing then why did you waste money on your mods?
Seems like you're making excuses.

The G isn't as fast as Evo, STi, etc, but I'd rather be able to rock 20s.
